The Card Magic of Nick Trost is one of my favorite texts for easy-to-do, yet practical and entertaining card magic. Although I reviewed this 4 years ago, I thought it was time to revisit this prior to it's reprinting. Hope it helps you decide if it's for you!

I normally do not comment under KZbin videos but I was so happy to find this video and your channel. I am Nick’s youngest grandchild and sadly did not get to fully meet him because he passed when I was a baby. It makes me so happy to see so many people enjoying and appreciating his work! Sending my family over your channel to check out your videos!!

Wow, that's amazing! Your grandpa has always been one of my favorite magical creators, and I've had conversations with magicians around the the world who feel the same way. Thank you for taking time to watch and comment 👍

If you get the same effect from simple methods as you would from knuckle busting sleights then anyone with any sense will use the more simple/ subtle methods.Of course any trick can be made better by doing four or five false shuffles.I have read many card trick books and I can without a shred of a doubt say that Nick Trost are the finest.He is legendary.( IMHO).Brilliant review!Cheers Jeff.

Another great episode? Jeff. But I think if we’re going to talk about the price, it’s important to remember that the original price tag of $45 in 1997 would be about $88 in today’s dollars. But regardless, for most of us it’s worth it.

I would pay $60 for this book if I didn’t already own it. Kopy Kat on page 202 is easily my favorite in the book. David Regal produced a version called Trost Worthy which he sells for five dollars on penguin Magic. Watch his performance. It is one of those effects that you do not think we fool anyone you read when you read the description. But it gets great reactions from laypeople and magicians alike.

This book belongs on every magician's bookshelf. All ten of them belong, but this is a great solo shelfer. In the whole series, there are only a handful of his packet tricks that aren't in the books. ROAD RUNNER, STAR WARS, BORN LOSER, and a few others. I don't think he had licensing rights for them anyway. Road Runner is still one of my favorite packet tricks. I believe that the REVERSE GILBREATH is also in the books. I saw someone do a trick with dollar bills using it. Still trying to remember who?

I heard from you somewhere that Lorayne: Classic Collection Vol. 1 is back in print. Haven’t been able to to backtrack to the original post. I see that I can order the book directly from Harry Lorayne’s website, but will the book be available from vanishing inc etc later? The shipping rate to Norway is quite steep

Harry notoriously never wholesaled his books when he could sell them directly. I believe that's still the case - you can purchase them from his estate, but otherwise, they're largely unavailable

How does this book differ from the subtle card creations books? Different tricks?
@nickvarga918
@nickvarga918 2 ай бұрын
Everything is different. But, Subtle Card Creations follow the basic format of the CMoNT. The information at the end of the book is also different than SCCs. So, if he talks GILBREATH ACES, he gives a few versions. Then another book will pick them up again with variants.
