The Locked on Reds podcast guys are super cool. Love the cross over. Can we all agree that the Cubs suck!
@homespuncovers893 ай бұрын
The cubs are a half game in front of the reds (which means the reds must suck too and the cards split 4 with them at home) as well as a split with the Rockies. They lose 2/3 to the White Sox and Miami, so can we assume they will split or lose 3/4 to the cubs since they suck? Not to mention 1/6 with the Brewers so far.

Some players get a longer leash than others. After a short period of time, Walker was sent down, not to return yet. Even though Gorman has 16 homeruns, much of that is negated by striking out over 50% of the time lately. I say send Gorman down to work on his swing, pitch recognition, etc... Let Walker do what got him here and quit worrying about adjusting his launch angle. The Cardinals should put Arenado on the 15 day IL. to force him into resting and working on his swing mechanics. We have players to cover both positions, especially if you audition a Prieto or Saggese at third. Donovan can play 2nd or 3rd with Nootbar and Walker ready to return. The main focus should be to get the best starter available and possibly another reliever better than Gallegos.

Yet Gorman has struggled he can take off I've seen it happen many times.

I don't understand y'all's deal with Gorman he's like the only guy y'all downgrade, he's struggling if he wakes up and looks to just put the ball back into play he will get back on track.
@stephenconnell26893 ай бұрын
@tonynelson2259 he deserves the same treatment and consideration as Walker. Let his bat get hot at AAA, then bring him back up.
@stephenconnell26893 ай бұрын
@tonynelson2259 I love Gorman, but he can't strike out 50% of the time. Fix it at AAA, where it's not killing every rally.

Reading a lot of love for the crossover episode in the comments but I gotta dissent. 8 minutes of series recap (broad strokes), JD giving a rundown of the Card's current trade deadline and position and acquisition targets (all covered in previous episodes), inside baseball about the Reds, and 5+ minutes of ad reads. I'm clearly in the minority based on this comments section, but I just don't get this format, it benefits no one and it's certainly not "locked on" the Cardinals. I know this will come off like I'm hating but I promise, this is coming from a place of love for LO Cards.

The Red's Infield seems elite, Cruz is special, you have a nice team just the way it is. Goldschmidt, Arenado, Contreras, Gordan are killing the Cards. Did I hear right that 11 Reds had steals against Contreras. Pages should be our catcher. The Cards should trade any of these players listed above. Where would the Cards be without Wynn, Burleson, Donovan, Siana?

@boschlosser10 Pallante is a starter. Being a RP doesn't align with the riddim and routine he needs. He's been very good since he returned to the rotation, let him cook.

This Cardinals team is consistent only in their inconsistency. Winn and Burleson are the only two batters who have been good throughout. Gray and Gibson are the only two starters that have been able to string together any stretch of good starts. The back of the bullpen was a strength for the first couple of months but they have been a little shaky lately

Well heres the facts you go out and get an elite starter you will compete against the dodgers Gray and the number 2 ace aquisition can pitch 4 games out of a 7 game series if it goes that far. Keep the dodgers or phillies from scoring to keep it close. Not much needs to be done to make a run.. yes JD it has to be a sexy move to compete..a number 4 or 5 wont cut it⚾️🏆

@Locked on Reds you mentioned Phillies and Dodgers but you forgot to mention how good the Yankees are this year, sluggers all over that team.

MLB is a strange thing, doesn't make sense. How does this happen? There are so many teams that are"still alive" for a playoff spot means that only a few teams are really out of it. Especially the NL. Really there are only 2 teams out of it, that being Marlins, & Rockies. With so many teams thinking they can still get there, they are reluctant to make moves. Cards history is that they don't make "major" moves anyway. Who knows about Edman, & whether all those pitchers( Mats, Rom, etc)will be able to help this year. There are no easy answers, plus our Farm system is pretty this as far as prospects who they would trade. I don't see Cards Brass doing much of anything.

Is it going to rain in six more games in a row....
@tonynelson22593 ай бұрын
I know what's wrong with the Cardinals (pitching) you don't have many guys that have great strike per k's or swing and miss stuff and with the (hitting) you simply have guys that are not looking for a simple base hit strategy but their trying to hit home runs and just swing for the fences which is leading to more strikeouts and outs.,

I don’t know. It just seems like the Reds have had the Cardinals’ number the past few years - beyond last year even. You expect them to take a series at home against them but if this was a 3 game series they would have dropped.

We need the $35 and $26M players earn their money. We need Gorman to actually become a MLB hitter and not a 1 trick pony guess hitter. Needs to change his approach to driving the ball wherever it’s pitches. Spray it from foul pole to foul pole. Get used to barreling the ball as opposed to humiliating himself by trying to do the wrong thing with the wrong pitch. I’m rooting for the guy.
