SMFTHB: calming and NOISE ASTTS: church choir WAGROAR: S L O W P A C E

You know, when it is said "It's just a burning memory" is the Caretakers overall theme song, I think it's more emblematic of the ballroom Trilogy. Al Bowlly featured tracks are the oldest sourced samples for Caretaker tracks. Thematic the ending 6 Albums to the Caretaker would use the source artist that contributed to the 3 albums that started the moniker.

Probably one of my favorite Caretaker albums, very cool to see what samples are here. You seem to be very good with these as you posted the SMFTHB sample guide not that long ago. Keep it up with these sample guides! I'll be waiting for the TPAA sample guide, though that seems like it will take some time to make, seeing as it sounds like pure noise half the time.

in the memory of a song, the band is The Wonderland Jazz Band and the lyrics for the sample are on genius. imo the whole song sounds like it is reversed other than some instrumental segments
@黒幕厚意庫羅馬科皮亞Ай бұрын
i say it’s probably reversed because in the original song, the lyrics seem pretty clear, but in the memory of a song, you can’t make out any word at all. just for comparison, in Midnight, the stars and you off of smfthb, with reading the lyrics, you can understand them, while in tmoas, they’re unintelligible, which is strange because both have reverb. that’s why i think it’s 95% reversed just something i noticed (also this album is like rlly good production wise, i had my first time listening to it earlier)

There's actually lyrics for the choir tracks but they're just cut short, and I can only identify one of them in "Driven Beyond The Limits." The lyric is just: "Am vi-"

The last haunted ballroom era album, i must say this is my favorite one sure i love smfthb and astts but this one feels like a end credit to the ballroom triolgy. The last track stardust being clear compare to the rest of the album is very fitting. Nice video btw.

This album does start to drag towards the middle but it sure does begin and end strong. I did enjoy "The memory of a song" though in a way I can't explain. It feels like running frantically in a long abandoned building.

Hoping for some kind of recognition feels uncanny to hear to me, if that makes sense, I also love the reverb and the mood that Stardust gives as the last track from this era

it's a technical term for audio; when you see an audio file is 44.1khz, that means there are 44,100 "samples" in a second of audio. This is referring to that kind of sample.

WAGROAR is defiantly my least favourite album from the ballroom trilogy. It just feels more like a slap dashed B-SIDES album to the 2 other albums from the ballroom trilogy. But with that said i will give it credit for being a album with a lot "first" moments in it. Like for example 04, 06, 12 and 16 feel more like the songs that we know for him today, plus the tracks 03, 05, 07, 08, 09, 11, 13, 14 and 15 must been BIG inspirations for amnesia, extra amnesia, deleted scenes forgotten dreams and (To a lesser extend) stage 6 of EATEOT. Overall i would give this album a 5/10 not bad, not good. Edit: would actually rank it a 6/10 now.
