Sure is, but it will return better than ever.

Lots of carnage, it definitely could have been much worse. Why not go dual port this time?
@MattLundquistVW5 жыл бұрын
Sure could have been worse. If I go dual port I would have to get another head machined for 94's. Plus a friend has a good single port to start with, so it will just be much faster to get it back together by going single port ( and I like single ports lol).

Matt Lundquist makes sense, it’ll be cheaper and it’s your engine.... do what YOU want! 😁

Some JB weld and polish and it will be as good as new lol. You guys will get it back together, just keep at it.

Will need a little more than a 3 angle grind; when i was in high school early 70's worked in an auto machine shop we had all the serous equipment needed to rebuild motors. I did all the valve jobs from vw's , v8's big rigs, tractor, even welder and experimental air planes. We had a local drag strip and a guy just procured a set of big block 454 alum heads I did a three angle grind, the next Sunday drag racing he dropped a valve through water jacket wanted me to fix it...back then all we had in the shop was a stick welder could not help him. He was so up set just dropped over 800 dollars on the heads one race gone. Due to the dune buggy craze we even procured a speical valve seat machine "VanNorman" from Canada so I could keep up with the vw work. Most challenge valve jobv was a 12 cyclinder jag, had to make a special collar to get the keepers out due to the over head cam. It was a fun motor to rebuild.

Cool story, I'm going to get another head. I'm sure it could be welded up and new seats installed, but it is just not worth the effort.
