From what I've looked up some Baryonyx papers put it's weight at 2 tons. As for Allosaurus, if we go from Fragilis to Anax, we could get an Allosaur that's over 3 tons possibly even 4 tons. So we could maybe see these weights until we get Suchomimus and hopefully one of its larger genuses.

^ people hang out in hotspots, you can just migrate to there as a deino, theres not even any point in not being at a hotspot as a deino, its literally free food. rain absorption does nothing by itself and if you choose eat for water/slower water drain together its just 2 mutation slots lost. salt water mutation requires you to stay on the edges of the map and at that point if you want to avoid deinos that badly probably just hang out in the smallest patch of water ever rather than wasting your time, food and water slots for that mut. so yeah, deinos are doing just fine imo. edit pinged the wront person for some reason

I will never understand them downsizing carno, it was already the lower irl estimate before the size nerf now they just use a pygmy version of it atp, and then they use the upper most size weight for cerato? Carno isn't even a small game hunter, everyone's been trying to force it into that niche since the dawn of time. Older versions of carno was better at hunting small game than this version. It was strong but this is what happens when you have a fast nearly 2 ton animal with the ability to knockdown things similar to it's weight, in a game where most animals are similar or less than it's weight.

Devs have been playing rex (they hopped on it a few times during the maia hordetest), so I'm hoping that means it is in fact close to release. That thing had some HEFT to it, too. It was not FG from the looks of it, but it was STOOOOMPING through the forest lol. I do think we need more aquatic and semi aquatic animals, because deino feels even more like a prison now that fish give the teeeeeeeniest tiniest amount of food to them at larger sizes. We need more stuff in that water, especially if they want to make half the damn map swamps (which are very often a dead zone)

As a ptera main i have to say that the inability for them to engage into combat is exactly what i want. I enjoy following around predators to wait for my chance to have a bite on something that was killed by them. This co-dependence can be very intense. The roles within a foodchain can't be set to be of similiar strenght for all - in the end the choice of your Dino ends up with deciding between a horror game and an action game.

@@jedahn And then there is a third option - cannibalism. Some guy on a russian server was highly aggressive so that we dog-fighted 3 times over the course of two hours. Everytime it ended up with me having to get away, not gonna lie. After the third fight i'm using my last stamina to get as high as i can to dive deep into the jungle beneath the 'Water Access' lake to glide extremely fast in between the trees to finally make it into a crown to hide. My pulse has 3 digits. I can see him searching for me for minutes and i know it will be my end if he finds me. But I survive.

Speaking of our chonky bary, Imo they should ugrade tenos niche from average herbi to the main semi aquatic herbi diving to the bottom of rivers for high diet plants and being harder to drown like a moose or kangaroo, why do I bring this up, how is it even relevant, because I would like for bary to be its true natural predator, outside of it being an Utah killer with its "anti pounce mechanic" it would be cool to give bary higher bleed resist than even cera, kinda like the other best swimming/thick hide dinos such as deino or teno, making tenos kicks and slashes or omnis main hunting strat practically useless, meaning when tenos or raptors see bary they will have two options run, or hide in your higher group numbers, jump it with raw dmg, distract it, or hide, unlike how the current carnivores at the top of the food chain interact with them

In my opinion more small tier herbivore, omnivore and carnivore needs to build up more variety of playstyles. They could also add Allo, Acro, Giga, Alberto, Bary, Sucho but not sure which is close to the release state. Also there are other herbies that could be within the 500kg - 2 ton weight range but the roster is more or less planned but I hope they could add more creatures later. Modded species would be interesting to see. I personally would like to play as Coelophysis but my food limit would be compy, Hypsi (my main) and eating small critters and insects. Still would be interesting but understandable these current herbivores are large enough and need coordination to hunt them down. Maia is tanky and fast which is funny as a Hypsi player.

That's only because they keep adding creatures that are insanely massive in comparison to the ones in the current game. When they add rex, that's another massive weight gap where rex has no competition or challenge other than itself. If they add rex without triceratops it will be a disaster

@halfslyced I'd say it's more than sizes aswell Maia is bigger than almost all carnivores, but it still fragile enough to die to those smaller carnivores And diablo while a lot harder to kill, isn't that hard to avoid So there's always ways around it But as they are adding creatures when they are done, anything can come at any given time, and as long as the animal can survive to adulthood, which is what the balance they aim at is, then it's good enough How will it fair to others in terms of combat or what will happen to it after adulthood, isn't really relevant to them And once you accept that thought process, you immediately realize why things are the way they are, and stop giving a fuck for the most part

The only time Dev make changes is when competition arises. Remember EVRIMA was rushed to production because of Path of Titans. Every Time Path of Titans do a major update the Isle gets an update not too long after to counter. If a Dino game that is remotely similar to the isle but launches on consoles as well. The Isle will be finished

They are not going to push any playables because there are no incentives for them to do so. Unless they lock rex or allo behind a DLC, i don't really see any reason for them to speed up the development. People have already bought the game, so in reality they can just chill and work on the game whenever they feel like it

Herbivores should weigh more than carnivores at every tier Look at rex v shant or trike (Legacy weights 5.7 v 11 or 8.2)

Honestly I would think that omni would be the sort of apex predator against maia and stego, but the pounce is just so glitchy half the time and for some reason the devs nerfed the bite speed to oblivion a couple of updates ago. Don't know why they did it because their balancing decisions baffle me half the time. A raptor weighing 450 Kg somehow bites twice as slow as a multi ton Gator. I am befuddled, beligerent, bedraggled, bamboozled and all around baffled by their balancing act.

When they release allo and austro i will be happy, i hope they hurry up though, i get that development is hard but how long are we supposed to wait for something that was teased for so long now. Edit: I think they should focus more on adding dinos of the opposite diet. After a herbi, add a carni, and so on, unless the dino is a tiny thing that wont hurt anyone

I was looking forward the most for Megalania and Baryonyx though as time goes and I reflect on this, I feel less and less confident with Bary with the ever looming presence of Deinosuchus, I feel like Bary will struggle a lot because of that. As much as Deinosuchus is an enjoyed playable, it's honestly a major problem in the roster with nothing capable of tussling with it properly in a semi-fair level, especially even less with so few bodies of water.
