100% agree, but I think if we’re able to get that lb Luke kuechly loves from nc state plus whoever we’ve got in free agency will make up for that loss, plus shaq being back healthy next year will make a big difference as well. Our defense will be fine my only concern is the OL, WR’s, and our rbs, but I think Dan is doing a great job addressing those needs in free agency and we also have the draft to get even more potentially valuable players at those positions. Because ultimately until we get some protection for Bryce and our rbs we will continue to have a stagnant offense and it doesn’t matter how good our defense is with an offense that can’t even get a first down let alone score, our defense would have to put up 21 points a game just to make up for it and that’s virtually impossible

I can make it simple for Luke Combs: go back to piggybacking some relevance off of someone else's song and leave football to the ones who know. Sure, go ahead and pay Burns 150 million; then leave the offensive line in shambles and bray like a jackass about how much Bryce sucks when he gets sacked another 60 plus times, has the same group of WR's save maybe one in the draft that's a crap shoot at best, and basically have no room for anything else because BB got his bag. Tepper appears to have learned his lesson and he's letting his guys do their thing. Before you can truly rebuild you gotta clean up the mess and make hard choices om what to keep and what to get rid of. BB was too expensive to keep, and that's on Tepper and Fitterer, Morgan was 3rd man down on the chain so he gets a shot at redemption. Canales is infectious, people can either be optimistic or just be quiet. Even those of us who are hopeful have our feet on the ground, this is not a Super Bowl team by any stretch of the term. The only reason I would say it's playoff caliber is because of the division (though I think people are underestimating Cousins in ATL also because of the rest of the division), but TB looked good last year and probably will again this year. We just want the team to get an identity again and put on games that aren't hard to sit through.

We feel more sound than we have in a long time. Still not sure about Center and CB yet and WR needs a little more skilled youth. I would also like a short yardage RB and someone to challenge the TE room. As far as QB let's play to his strength and see if it manifests year 2.

I personally see it as a C+/B- at the moment. The biggest thing that needs to be done right now is figure Young out and they made a lot of moves to sort that. He has one to two years to prove he can be QB1 and the Panthers have taken steps in that direction. The team has to know if they need to start looking for a replacement. Nothing else matters this year. It can be bumped up to a B+ if the get the draft right. They need to fill out the rest of the offense. Why? See above.

This smells like another microwaved rebuild instead of one done the right way. This roster is better than last years but will be at most mediocre in an NFL context. At the very least we can finally evaluate Bryce without people making excuses - he will by all accounts now have a decent OL and WR corps with a coach that fits his style, so if he is still getting sacked and still not completing more passes especially layered passes there is no more excuses.
