Bryce Young Will Prove Himself in Year 2

Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young is being unfairly scrutinized in comparison to Houston Texans starter CJ Stroud. The former Alabama prospect has actually played very well in exceptionally difficult circumstances.
Frank Reich's offence and the lack of surrounding talent has neutered his numbers and prevented the team from winning games. But Young's performances when separated from his teammates suggest he's going to be a star quarterback for a long time.

@@tylernolan9804 At least you stuck with your team. If you don’t no one will. It was a bold take but a 33-10 Cowboys victory was inevitable that day. I can see how young could be successful in the NFL on this game film. He’s tough as nails & keeps his accuracy even when probably concussed. Good luck in 2024 🍀👍

I just got as a panthers fan I enjoy people breaking down what Young went through. But I'm here to say that the way you edited the video, like adding multiple perspectives at the same time without over doing it when. The way you broke down the plays and sectioned the video is incredible and truly makes it easy to watch and comprehend. I just felt you deserve props for the effort you put into the video. Most just show all 22 and add some route lines and talk about it. Seriously you earned a sub from that alone. Keep it up

I think he's been better than what people are saying right now. That said, "as good as CJ", no. That's just not true at all. And some of that isn't even Bryce's fault because some is playcalling and opportunity. That said CJ is executing plays that plenty of NFL vets can't execute with that level of consistency, so until Bryce actually does that there's no way they're currently on the same level.

As a 49ers fan, but also someone who's rooting for Young, I have an open question, but especially for Panthers' fans. Do you think it would make sense to trade a defender, such as Burns, Brown and or Horn, in order to get Young a premier weapon, preferably in the draft? I think it has some merits, but it's also a pretty deep WR, as well as a pretty underrated TE class. Im also shocked by how bad the offensive line has been. They at least had promise going into the season, particularly in the run game. Still believe it will turn around though.
@kirometer5230

Absolutely. Trading moore instead of burns to get Young was the absolute worst idea imaginable. Bryce needs as many weapons as possible so trading away your only actual weapon (besides thielen) is the worst thing you could possibly do. I'd trade burns for a 2024 first to hopefully steal a receiver decently high in the first round and IF higgins doesn't stay with the bengals, sign him for sure.

I'm not going to lie, I thought it was a pretty insane pick at the time because he's just so small, and the margin of error tends to be a lot less forgiving for players of his size. It's very obvious that they don't have that much talent around him though.
@Raugturi
@Raugturi 3 ай бұрын
I don't get how people are still on about his size. He's been sacked a billion times and didn't die, so he's not frail. He runs when he needs to, so he's clearly not afraid. And he hasn't had any issues with batted passes or not seeing open receivers across the middle. Of all the problems the team had, the ones that were his fault and the ones that weren't, his size had nothing to do with any of it.

Through his first seven games played, Stroud has completed 57.8% of his pass attempts for 1,800 passing yards. He's thrown nine touchdowns and one interception. Through six games, Young has completed 64.3% of his passes for 1,202 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions. That's just a brief summary of opposing stats. CJ Stroud is carrying himself like a seasoned veteran. He's threading needles on the field, passing to receivers in double coverage like he's been doing it for a decade. Carrying himself like a confident veteran. He's just on a whole another level. So as far as your argument, ummm, no. He's not just as good.

Damn near every player, coach, GM, etc always say "Stats do not tell the whole story". This guy is showing you WHY stats dont tell the whole story but the average football fan doesnt listen for shit. Summary: the scheme Young is in is bad, WRs cant separate, and the OL cant pass protect. Complete opposite for Stroud. Mahomes would look like trash in this offense (like he did in week one with Kelce sidelined).

QB school said the same thing. Nobody is open and Bryce is constantly under fire. One of their starter on the OL from last game just got cut. Most football fans understand stats and that is it. Half of a rookie season doesnt make a career.

Your qb is balling and u got every right to back him up considering he’s ur future franchise. But don’t talk as if the situations are similar. Panthers have had identity crisis all season and both the O-line and receiving group are among the worst in the league in their own right. It’s also funny as I see a lot of u Texans fan like to criticize Bryce outta nowhere, when ur franchise qb himself speaks highly of Bryce, as does most people who are in the NFL.

@Donnybenavidez I'm not trying to hear that they have the more experience d coaching staff and its the very coaching staff that is implementing outdated predictable scheme don't have nothing to do with the players. If you a great coach you elevate the players you have knowing strengths and weaknesses. We don't have a great roster but the coaching staff knows and implements schemes accordingly. Bryce could be more effective with different coaching. But far as raw talent and IQ CJ got him beat by a mile.

@@htownfinest7365 I agree when it comes to the coaching staff. Slowik has done extremely well for the Texans, while Reich is as you said: outdated. No, the personnel is also a problem with the Panthers. It’s never a good omen when a 34 yr old player like Adam Thielen, who’s always been more of a no2 receiver even in his younger years, is their best receiver. I think Mingo has some potential, but clearly is a subpar separator and has some annoying drops this season. TMJ, Chark, Hurst and the run game all have been major disappointments for the Panthers too. I’ll give credit to where it’s due, CJ is a baller and I’m not gonna touch this “Stroud vs Bryce” debate bcuz it’s just pointless atm. But I understand the video creator mentions Stroud so I understand why you’re here lol

Drew Brees, Chase Daniel, JT O'Sullivan, Colt McCoy, Sean Salisbury, Chris Simms, Kurt Benkert, Kyle Sloter... all have something you do not. Can you guess what that might be? 🤔Not to mention many non-QB NFL veterans like Richard Sherman, Steve Smith, Chris & Kyle Long and too many ex-NFL personnel execs to mention. They all have TWO these things in common: 1) none are on their lappy in Ireland pretending to know how the QB position is played, and 2) 100% DISAGREE with your clickbait title. CAN Bryce be the Bryce he was supposed to be when drafted? 100%. I have ZERO doubt, outside of injury. HAS Bryce played as well as CJ Stroud? Nope. Not even a conversation. I don't expect you to know that, because... well... you just don't know. Best of luck building your YT channel.

When this guy said "noah brown is better known than the WR on the panther"...lets be real guys everybody knows chark....lmfao brown was a garbage bin TE. The problem with young is he doesnt have a strong arm he has a quick release. He tries to do too much, and doesnt have a good feel for the game hence the interceptions....Stroud is in a league of his own...This video is a title drawer but there's nothing to see here....guy doesnt compare rather than just pointing fingers at what the delusional panther fans believe in.....my challenge is keep this video here for 4 years so we can bask in how embaressing this take is
