the USDA hardiness zone for Spuds FL is 9a. Mango's ideal growing conditions start in zone 9b so I'm afraid it might be just a tad too cold where you are.

Have you ever gotten the milk from the skin on your lips while eating a mango and had any irritation? I lost all the skin around my lips when eating a ripe mango on St. Croix in the USVI many years back. Seems like it would be a great video topic.

my wife and son have very bad reactions to the sap. it burns their skin. they can eat mangos but they can't handle them until I rinse away the sap

You should try the Ratnagiri Hapus mango type (aka Alphonso mango), absolute delight
