Just back from a visit guided by Roag and on the 64th anniversary too! Funny and extremely emotional for me. A must for Beatle fans.

Been twice to the Casbah and it's amazing. Met Pete Bests brother Roag who showed us around and you can just feel an atmosphere as if Lennon and his crew are still there. The walls could tell a few stories. It's a place every Beatles fan should visit.

Lifelong rock music/Beatles fan here. I've spent most of my life in wondrous amazement of my musical heroes and their friends/family pictured in this video. Now, as I enter the final chunk of my life, I am saddened how I'm losing my musical heroes to heaven. Just yesterday, lost Little Richard. It's getting that the world is no longer any place for rock 'n' roll music. Heaven is. Ahhh, what a band playing up there. Right now, I imagine a huge friendly argument between Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and Little Richard all about who influenced who, who got ripped-off the most, hahahaha. God bless them and, although I did meet these guys as a fan, it's God's promise and in God's glory that I will see them rock again. Until then, I have my records. Remember, there's two things a person can do to become God-like: create and forgive. If you spend your life creating (art, food, music, little babies that grow up into good adults) and go around forgiving all those who trespass, you become an awesome person.

I visited the Casbah in 2008. Best £10 I ever spent on The Beatles, and that includes a visit (£10) to Trident Studios where they. Recorded Hey Jude.

The Casbah pre dates the Cavern by two years. The Casbah was the first beat club in Liverpool. This was so early in the career of the Beatles that Ringo wasn't even a member of the band yet.

It would be great to get Pete, Paul, and Ringo all together for a chat while they're still around. Would be very interesting, but I know it will probably never happen.

Paul wouldn't do it. He was instrumental in kicking Pete out.

You can find an interview with Lennon hear on KZbin stating pete was only in the band because he had a drum kit and we were going to hamburg so had to have a drummer, he couldn't keep a tune and we had every intention of kicking him out as soon as we got back to England.. That's pretty much what Lennon said in his own voice, I've heard only stories that McCartney and Harrison wanted him out for similar reason's, so it's fair to assume they all wanted him out. But at the end of the day it was just a job, they weren't yet famous but old pete earned more money out of being in a band before they were famous, then he earned In his entire career... So he did well out of it.. It's like winning the lottery even though you never had the winning ticket

@@adrinathegreat3095 I get that they wanted Ringo because they thought he was a better drummer than Pete, and that they didn't exactly go about it the right way on how they fired Pete, but it would still be nice to get Pete, Ringo, and Paul together and talk about the Beatles early days in Hamburg and Liverpool. I mean it's been 60 years since Pete got fired, and Pete got a reported 3-5 million dollars for "Anthology", so I think they could handle getting together for a conversation while they're all still alive.

@@jamesh2711 sure would be interesting, Ringo had previously stood in for Pete best whilst they were playing in Hamburg, there are several stories as to why, and it'd be interesting to see them all talk about the early days of the Beatles and their recollections of the other groups they knew who made it big and those that just faded into obscurity. I'm expecting there's animosity on both side's, Paul feeling Pete cashed in on his time as a one time member of the band who brought out countless albums using the Beatles name " best of the beatles" and various other Beatle named albums and offered his version of events to the dick Clark movie about the Beatles early day's. And Pete feeling hard done by because he was kicked out just prior to them hitting the big time and him being unable to make a career on his own in the music business afterwards.. So can't see it happening, but would be a a must watch programme if it was ever made.. Pete best's name rarely got mentioned by the rest of the Beatles afterwards, they certainly avoided talking about it

And to think the house was the result of a winning bet on a horse. If that horse had failed, could have been a disaster for the Beatles!!☹️

Why isn't Paul's interview in the full documentary and what else did he talk about?
@adrinathegreat30953 ай бұрын
Different version of event's, they've cut out a lot of what he said to go along with the narrative. The first place the quarrymen played was in the basement of a house near to where Rory storm lived. They all knew Rory and his mum and most were regularly around his house. In simple terms they played in the basement of a large house of rorys neighbour, and turned it into a cafe type of place, without a licence so couldn't charge entrance fee, so sold coke Pepsi and snacks etc, the band was paid via a tip box, this place only lasted about 6 weeks before being closed due to complaints by neighbours. It was 1958 a year before the casbah club opened and many casbah regulars were also regulars of this club, called something like " The morgue" McCartney has mentioned the place before and again a edited sound clip was used, to suggest he was talking about the casbah.. After all it was a club in the basement of a big house where many went and played music. The actual building is long gone and a housing estate is where it once stood.

@@wanderer1955 Because he didn't deserve it. Pete Best is the one who slaved away on drums 7 hours a night, 7 nights a week for 2 years as a Beatle. Pete Best is the one who developed The Beatles sound when he invented the "Atom Beat" drumming style, that was copied by every drummer in 2 cities, including Ringo. Pete Best didn't do anything wrong, both he and Ringo were replaced by a pro session drummer on, "Love Me Do", so he could've remained the band's drummer, as George Martin told Brian Epstein. There was no reason to sack him except pure, petty jealousy. Pete got all the hot girls (which annoyed TF outta Paul), Pete was so popular that the band was being called by fans in Liverpool, "Pete Best & The Beatles" (which annoyed TF outta John, as it was HIS band), and Pete was too mature and popular with the ladies to be George's little playmate that he so desperately wanted (as he was annoyed AF that between him, John, and Paul, he was the 3rd wheel, who couldn't even get a writing credit despite his early contributions). But the Fab 3 didn't give AF about Pete dedicating 2 years of his life to making The Beatles the hottest ticket in 2 cities! All they cared about were their own selfish desires. Ringo was the luckiest man on Earth to climb on board the Beatles rocket moments before it was about to take off. Brian Epstein knew that Ringo was no better on drums than Pete, and he was afraid Martin would reject Ringo in the studio (which he did). So the DAY before Epstein offered the job to Ringo, he offered it to Johnny "Hutch" Hutchison, a terrific, seasoned drummer in Liverpool. Hutch said, "No thanks. Pete's my friend, and I won't do the dirty on him." So Epstein offered it to Ringo the next day, and Ringo accepted. Ringo and Pete were also mates--they partied together after gigs, went sightseeing together in Hamburg, took in a picture here and there. Kinda tells ya something about the characters of Hutch and Ringo, don't it. Ringo was lucky, alright. But he was also a louse.

@@Cosmo-Kramer Yeah but Ringo was the better "Beatle" ( and drummer) I have heard and seen Pete drumming. Ringo was and is better. And nobody but NOBODY does drum fills like Ringo Starr. And finally if the Beatles were happy with Ringo ( and they heard both drummer's too) then who are we to argue. Nah! Ringo deserved his place in the Beatles 👍😁 Oh!! Nearly forgot. Tell me the song's where Ringo play's badly I will go take a listen.

True, but todays cavern is rebuilt on the same site as the old one, so to be honest its not that much different, the spirit of the band is very evident in todays club I thought, they even used the same bricks from the 60's cavern club.
