In Fulton County, Ohio Sierah was out on her bike after parting ways with her boyfriend. She was due to go home a few minutes away, but she never made it. A massive search began, and it would lead to a man with a very shady history, and even shadier barn.

He needs to guess what other people find empathetic because he himself has no empathy. And he clearly guessed it very very wrong because he reasoned from his own perspective (HE would want to rape a beautiful girl). *Apologies if I am using the wrong term here; I am aware that one group of people (I believe sociopathic people) do know right from wrong, and they always get mixed up with the other group.

Makes you wonder how many more 'success' stories happened after... He definitely learned from his first mistake. He could have hunted away from home after that. But with Sierah he got careless. He saw a perfect opportunity close to home and he went for it. The setup in his barn is shocking and it shows he planned to imprison a woman there. I think he wanted to keep Sierah as his sexual slave and possibly didn't rape her initially because she was fighting (could have been heard by mother/somebody else). He tried to subdue her and break her spirit some more but accidentally killed her with that gag. It's too well planned and thought through for it to be his first victim.

I absolutely LOATHE being touched at best i'll subconsciously flitch and be uncomfortable when someone touches me or tries to and at worst i'll have a mini panic attack because for almost my entire life all human contact I had was bad so I subconsciously see it ALL as bad and I don't trust people bottom line and in the back of my mind every person I meet is going to end up hurting me sooner or later, if that makes sense. Sierah’s cousin here. I don’t live in Fulton county myself, but I visibly remember when I first heard about this. I was young. My Dad drove hours to be with her search party, and stayed there for days until she was found. It was horrific. To say that Fulton County was horrified is an understatement. I remember attending her funeral. I had never felt so much pain in a room of people. For months after, my Mom refused to let my brother and I go anywhere without being with one another. At first I thought she was just overreacting, but now I completely understand. I never knew Sireah. But everyone who did spoke so kindly of her. She was an amazing person, one of the best people you would ever meet. And I believe that more than ever. The man that killed her is set to be executed in May of 2025, and I wish nothing but a horrible death upon him. We miss you everyday Sireah.

it was over 20 years ago he tried abduction. so not sure on sentences as I think judges can only give what there allowed. I personally would have let him rot in jail. Would have saved some other poor woman I think he killed. He went out to murder a woman through abduction as he wasn't just going let her go and he got 3 years I think. Only difference was he got caught before he could murder the first one. It's shocking to think how many are out there like him.

@@rustinstardust2094 this is nothing new.. we are just hearing about it more thanks to the internet. I grew up during the time of cases like John Wayne Gacy and The Night Stalker so I've always been aware however, in my 20s I never feared anything.. I was a free spirit and traveled alone multiple times, including outside of the country a few times.. i worked at a local dive bar where creepy guys regularly hung out and knew my schedule and I also worked at a huge club in the city where no one would have known if I went missing (this was long before security cameras wherever inside of every venue) I never remember any Bouncers walking me to my car and it wasn't unusual for me to have to park blocks away from the club, sometimes on dark side streets.. I've always been aware but yet nothing ever stopped me so I now know how lucky I got and I have stories for days of situations where I came very close to not being so lucky.. ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings, be on guard, make sure someone always knows where you are going and where you're supposed to be but I know so many situations are unavoidable, like this one.. absolutely devastating. I just heard of a case last week where a cleaning lady for a motel had a routine where she would text her husband before entering any room and she did text him but minutes later she was attacked by a psycho who followed her into the room that she had to go clean. He killed her.. everything was caught on surveillance and there was nothing anyone could have done to prevent it. So sick and so scary 😓

@@lisayork2624 yeah one time I was held up at gunpoint and another time I was held captive for 4 days in an apartment in a Mexican ghetto where the windows had bars on them so I could not even escape from a window.. long story but thankfully I'm ok and those are just 2 of many different stories where I came extremely close to what could have been horrible situations. My 24-year-old niece was abducted in October of 2019 she was brutally assaulted for hours and that's another long story she did survive but ended up in ICU and still needs surgeries for the damage he caused her.. trial has been postponed multiple times because of Covid so they have considered offering him a plea deal.. thankfully they found him because she still had his DNA in her but she said there's no way this was the first time he did that and he had attempted to drown her and leave her for dead, so we believe he may have killed multiple women. I don't have my license to carry yet but I'm very comfortable shooting all different types of hand guns, rifles, even shotguns.. I've gone to the shooting range many times to practice. My biggest fear though is I'm a very petite girl and I've taken self-defense classes but the reality is, large man can overpower small women.. especially if there are more than one and many times there are.

@bodd boward already said it: system reform and rehabilitation programs. most sex offenders are never accused, and even less are ever convicted, so step one would be to encourage victims to speak out by providing them the proper therapy and protection so they feel safe enough to. step two would be rehabilitation for the sex offenders themselves-- the science behind sex crimes is incredibly lacking, so first we'd need to dig deeper into why offenders are offending, and then we can address how to prevent them from repeating the crime. thats the basics of it. if you wanna look deeper into it id recommend enrolling in a criminal justice class, or googling terms like "prison reform" or "recidivism prevention," or if this subject doesnt actually interest you then keep your mouth shut stay out of the discussion.

The execution date for a Fulton County man found guilty of killing Sierah Joughin has been set. the Ohio Supreme Court has set the execution date for James Worley on May 20, 2025. Worley was convicted of kidnapping and killing Joughin in 2016. A judge sentenced him to death in 2018.the Supreme Court ruled the evidence presented against Worley was sufficient for the conviction. It also disagreed with Worley that the jury pool was tainted and that a change of venue was necessary. It rejected his claim that he received ineffective counsel from his lawyers, as well.

Just a small clarification. When you went over his record you mentioned "having a gun while on disability." That's not quite right. In the USA convicted felons (generally) can't posses/own guns or ammo, but because the USA is made up of 51 different jurisdictions (actually more but to keep it simple 50 states +the Feds) and they all word that a little differently. In Ohio the crime is officially called "possession of a firearm (or ammunition) while under disability). That's got nothing to do with being on disability benefits it means you've lost that right or are "disabled" of it. Generally because youve been convicted of a felony or midemeanor domestic violence crimes.

Apparently you never heard of the disgusting book that O.J. Simpson wrote which went into detail of what he would have done “if” he was the murderer that the criminal court declared him innocent of, which he hilariously thought would prove to the court of public opinion that he indeed was _NOT_ the murderer of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman, and the court got it right. 🙄🤪 If I remember correctly, the book was titled “If I did it.“ _OR_ maybe it was titled “If I had done it.” Perhaps I am a little bit off, but it is a title very close to one of those titles if I didn’t get it exactly right. Luckily, the Goldman family was on that shit straight away, and made sure to get the courts to assign _ALL_ of the monetary profits from the sales of that book to them, so that OJ wouldn’t see a single penny coming to him from that bullshit. And FYI, the Goldman family absolutely was not in need for any money... it wasn’t about them needing the money, as I grew up in the same small town that Ron Goldman and his sister Kim lived in (I used to sit next to Kim in high school class), so I know that they were an extremely wealthy family. It was about them making sure that OJ was not able to profit off of what he had heinously done to their son/brother (which civil court proved in the Goldman family’s lawsuit against OJ, as civil court has less requirements for reasonable doubt than criminal court does, _AND_ the family was able to gather even more evidence by the time they finally got to the civil court arena... For example, the shoes that OJ owned which matched the shoe prints left during the time of the murder were so limited in production that the odds of anyone else having those shoes in the area was ridiculously slim, _AND_ even though OJ said he never owned such shoes, and they weren’t able to find them in his house because he had disposed of them immediately after the murder at the airport, they were able to find a newspaper clipping of him wearing those exact _SUPER_ expensive limited edition shoes - the criminal court case never brought that up, which indeed was yet another smoking gun piece of evidence which would have certainly helped convict him at the time).
