My brothers and I first read the book in 1976 and were hooked every since. Lestat needs Louis a lot more than the opposite. He loves him, then adds Claudia to add to his family. Anne Rice was an amazing author. Thank you Sam because you acted the hell out of this roll. Can't wait to see more.

Absolutely amazing show. Been a fan of books since the 90's. Was originally scratching my head with changes they were doing and wondering where they will go with this but the show blew me away! The amazing writing, the absolutely brilliant cast and acting, the cinematography, the costumes, the atmosphere.. everything was top notch on this show and I can't wait for season 2!!

Sam as Lestat is fkn per👏fec👏tion but I've looked for him in his other works and he's definitely a chameleon bcz he's not as pretty in those roles, and that speaks to his ability to embody his characters. NONETHEELESS I am deeply enamored with him and am a fan forever.

So weird because they're both English, but Sam plays French and Jacob plays American, even though Sam's natural speaking voice is already pretty close to American.

American? He had an English accent in real life, not American.

Sam is Australian

@@tj0028 I know. But he studied acting in the UK at LAMDA and lived there for years. It's only within the last four years he has moved back to Australia. Hence why he has an English accent. Although he definitely has a slight twang of an Aussie accent at times since he has moved back home.

Sam Reid is an Australian and speaks in what is called an Australian cultured accent such as Cate Blanchett. It is the way newsreaders used to speak in the 70s in Australia, or the way you are taught in drama or theatre institutions.

Daniel is supposed to be a tall, slender young man with ashen blond hair, violet eyes and 'a student's face'. He becomes vampire at 32 further down the line. Not an old retired man, maybe CGI?

The story and characters have been altered somewhat. However, you'll get to see Daniel in his younger days. Actor Luke Brandon Field has been cast and the producer of the series confirmed both Armand and Daniel will have a relationship.

What did they do to the characters?! Did they ever read the descriptions and especially the background of Louis?? A few changes would be ok, but this is no respect for the source material or characters at all. Why not cast Anderson as Daniel or even Lestat? That would have made a bit more sense, but according to Louis 's life and background, that choice is absolute nonesense. I would rather have them create a whole new vamp series, not mess that much with great originals.

@@pearlemefa7698 I explained a context for a criticism about how they ignored an important background of an original character that defines a lot about his thinking and actions in the book. So instead of changing his, they could have easily changed others with less impact. I have no problem with the chosen actors, I just think they should have switched their roles around considerng the backgrounds. - It was not about a problem with change itself from book to series. No idea what else you imply or if you understood correctly.
