Interview With the Vampire at PaleyFest Fall TV Previews 2022

Stars and creators of AMC's Interview With the Vampire (Rolin Jones, Mark Johnson, Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Eric Bogosian, Bailey Bass) gather with moderator Dalton Ross at PaleyFest Fall TV Previews 2022 to celebrate their show. Topics include: the conscious effort for scripts not to recycle Rice's debut novel; how Anderson and Reid went about establishing chemistry to convincingly depict their characters' "immortal bond"; Bass's pleasure that Claudia has now been envisioned as a 14-year-old vampire, rather than the feral 5-year-old that Rice conceived; Reid's memorable experience when being fitted for his first set of vampire fangs; the cast's delight in filming in iconic New Orleans locales like Jackson Square; why Bogosian found his scenes opposite Reid to be "hypnotic"; and the inclusion of countless Easter eggs for Rice's fans to seek out.

I love this show. The Casting is awesome. The time lime move was a good idea. Who ever cast this show should get a promotion. I like that Louis has evolved from book one and has character development . He does not let Lestat steam roll him all the time. Lestat has full development from the books and not beholden to just the 1st book. A hope for many seasons.

I have been to Nola many times, bought gumbo, went to bourbon street in the evening & night & it was lit up like day time. Stopped in jaz place to enjoy some music. I love that movie. I knew nothing about Rice's book never heard of it until my son told me about the movie. I rode the street car down middle of street. I just love new orleans. There is something about it.

Anne's Claudia's entire history and character becomes absolutely ridiculous and unbelievable being played by someone of Bailey's age and size. They might as well have hired a 70 year old actress to play Claudia than this, it would make just as much sense.

I am excited to watch this version of Lestat! But I will admit, even if this actor will be amazing as Lestat, my heart will forever be attach to Tom Cruise's version of Lestat. Tom's version of him is what I will forever imagine Lestat to look like, and he played him so well.

My brother has said that Timothée Chalamet could be the perfect Armand. He is as described in the books what Armand would have looked like.... young/youthful, pretty, pale skin, piercing eyes, curly locks (though i forgot what color hair Armand has in the books).

@@SJ-007 Her character was aged up because a 6 and 11 year old would age drastically over the time required to film, very noticeably, which would NOT work for this character. They needed someone not likely to change appearance notably over a period of years. You act like the essence of the character would work with someone visibly aging, and that'd be fine as long as they STARTED at an acceptable age to YOU. Which is hilarious. And no I didn't block you, they removed my comment. You don't seem to know much about how film making works yet think you can critique it because it had to make a book change. The movie was filmed over a MUCH shorter period of time than a series is.

@@gilsurf8 It certainly doesn't have any value as it stands, and is pretty pointless. Might as well remove the "like" button also. TBH I doubt the button was removed for reasons like this, I think they could care less about opinions on entertainment. It simply would not do to have on full display the level of disgust most people have for the current political climate and media. Our conflicting views on television productions are insignificant in comparison. I saw what I thought was a great comment recently that was very apt - "We're being given the circuses, but they forgot about the bread".

It's renewed for season 2 and broke AMC premiere records. The "majority of other threads" were trailers people like you were hating on before actual release date, not overall consensus of real reviews after release. 😁
