5:43-6:28 Oh yesssss!! The one and only Lorenzo Music in his classic role as Carlton before he played Garfield. Jim Davis couldn't deny hearing Music's voice as Carlton as the right choice for Garfield. No one will ever do Garfield as good as Music ever did.(RIP)

The woman with the garbage (0:40) is a terrific character actress, Bella Bruck. For fans of The Odd Couple (the one with Tony Randall and Jack Klugman, 'natch), she was in a few episodes, and even though her appearances were brief, she was hysterical. In The New Car, she as 'push over' Paige - who Oscar called to buy their car, and in Myrna's Debut, she was the woman who was her replacement as a secretary (she was worse than Myrna), and in Take My Furniture, Please, she shows up to but furniture in three middle of the night. Too any fan of that show, just from the brief descriptions, I KNOW people remember and are laughing.

Lorenzo Music's character of Carlton was what gave Jim Davis the idea to hire Music to play Garfield the cat. Music was always afraid for a long time to show his face to public thinking it would destroy the illusion created by his voice. In the Garfield Annual I have a photo of his face apears in the feature "The voice of Garfield."

Actor Lorenzo Music ( Carlton the Doorman ) was also the voice of Garfield the Cat in the animation series. I saw a picture of him and the picture reminded me of voice actor Mel Blanc or Cheech Marin .

I loved that show and all the characters so much. Rhoda and MTM were a big part of my childhood. I'm sooooo disappointed here though as I really wanted to actually see Lorenzo Music come out so we could see what he really looked like. Often the voice we hear doesn't always match the face of the person speaking.

Lorenzo Music, as you know, also did the voice of Garfield the Cat. Jim Davis said in Garfield's 10th anniversary show that he had never seen Lorenzo's face. Maybe Lorenzo had no face.

+Michael Hambrook Of course he has a face, the producers of Sally Jesse Raphael's show didn't want to show Lorenzo's actual face.
@RaginRonic5 жыл бұрын
@@vestonbruno2795 Lorenzo didn't show his face much on TV to help protect the projection of the characters her performed. Kind of like how pro wrestlers would sometimes, up to the mid-1990s, be 'in character' around fans as they traveled the world to do their events. =P

Well he didn't show his face for a long time because he thought it would destroy the illusion created by his voice. Even when he voiced Garfield after playing Carlton he felt even more reluctant after seeing Garfield animated to show his face.("If people saw a picture of me, they would say 'He looks like THAT instead of Garfield!' If you have a visual image' it takes away from what you hear." -Lorenzo Music)However in the early 90's he set aside these reservations and allowed a photo of himself to printed in the Garfield Annual that I have a copy of.

I think it depends on where you are from and family location history. My Mom and Dad are from opposite ends of the country and use different words for many, many things. My Mom still calls it an ice box. Her entire family calls it an ice box. My Dad calls it a refrigerator. His entire family calls it a refrigerator.
