Not really. Patel is a surname from Gujarath, primarily a business community. They are found everywhere - all over the world. And business gives them a mixed reputation in India & abroad. They are an influential community, and well to do as well, but I have never thought of them as being particularly prestigious.

They had a lot of cultural intermingling just like there was a lot of cultural similarities and inter mingling between all the western nations to create "Western civilization" without there being one unified political state called The West or whatever... 🤷🏾‍♂️
