The Castellows House of the Rising Sun / Crazy On You Intro, The Blind Pig, Ann Arbor, March 14 2024

The Castellows played several rocking covers on their first headlining tour including this classic rock tune !!! They do sound like a rock band and have all the cool stage moves IMHO - that is, a whole lot of swagger and strutting :)
The intro is Heart's Steel Wheels, also know as the intro to Crazy On You. Ellie really shows off her chops on this instrumental intro. She does some hot rock star moves too, working the stage all the time - hot like Kim Chi really (get it?). Justin's fiddle in House of the Rising Sun really adds to the arrangement.

Apparently they weren't sheltered too much! They are quite good considering they have only been doing this professionally for a year or less. Have you heard First Aid Kit? Two Swedish sisters (you wouldn't know they are Swedish from listening) with wonderful sibling harmony and great songwritting. They do Americana better than Americans!

I don't understand folks talking during the shows. Some venues were even more chatty than this - weird! The sound mix is a challenge up front for sure too - there is extra direct sound from the elec. guitar amp and drums. I've done some remixes to boost the vocals (using moises.ai) .. that does help give a bit better mix :)
