In my opinion this game is pretty bad even as a DBD fan. Sometimes its intentionally funny, often times its unintentionally funny. The writing is pretty awful at times, it gets buggy, acting is middle of the road at best, and the biggest waste of Supermassive's choice based gameplay ever. People have complained about choices not mattering but this game is hands down the worst example of that. That being said, it has some good concepts and great design and good atmosphere. The first hour is really good. Story could have been great but I think it really falls flat in the storytelling and gameplay department. I thought it was the worst Supermassive Games release. The Quarry had a better story even with its rushed sloppy ending and was way more charming in its acting, writing, and campy nature. Until Dawn was their magnum opus, The Quarry is a fun time ala campy slasher horror to sit back and have fun with and laugh and occasionally roll your eyes. I don't think Casting of Frank Stone does enough with its story to really satisfy. It feels like a waste of time in hindsight with little impact on the story despite the occasional really cool idea and design. I'd give it a 4/10 personally.

Should they add more combat or less choice?

I think it would be beneficial if they added in other types of skill checks/QTE’s that aren’t the usual press or hold button. They dabbled in the dark pictures but I feel like there is opportunity. Also having the world be less linear would be great too

I lost all faith in supermassive until dawn was great but the rest were not so much...Man of medan was meh, little hope was just bad, house of ashes was decent, devil inside (im not sure), and the quarry was just bad and very boring.

Completely agree. I gave Man of Medan the benefit of the doubt, thinking they would improve. This feels like return to form and the darker tone overall is a big plus.
