If you live in the country or have an outside cat then it's a really good idea to have a dog that will keep the yard and surrounding areas safe from coyotes or any other animal that would smell the dogs scent and realize they in dogs territory and will leave the area instead of searching for something to hunt like a cat, Cats will also retreat to the yard if danger is around so the dog can help protect them.

Yeah definitely they are, a cat will do just fine without dogs to help keep away other animals since cats have really good hearing and sense of smell from a far distance and will run back home if danger in the area. It's good to have friends for a cat, 2 cats together can destroy a dog if they had to outside and will keep other aggressive cats that will attack another cat especially if it female to try to mate even if spayed. A dog is a good friend to cats, one time my friends cat was alone near their yard when she was chased and attacked by another male cat that wanted to mate so she fought him off trying to get away but the male cat was bigger and had scratched and bite her up and was bleeding a little bit so the dog jumped the fence and chased the male cat into a tree then the friend brought them back inside.

In WWI there was a British Sailor who survived three sinking ships… on the same day. The sailor was on the HMS Aboukir when she was torpedoed by U9. He was picked up Cressy, which was also sunk, and then lastly by Hogue which was, like the previous two, were sunk

So Oscar was essentially a sailor who was captured by the Allies, never released, forced into servitude in Gibraltar and Northern Ireland and then passed away as a POW. We need compensation for Oscar, especially since Wojtek got 3 statues, multiple bottles of vodka and several packs of cigarettes for carrying artillery shells.

@@thomasmolyneaux3700 Well look at it this way, Sam was on ships that sank, but he *survived*, that's never a guarantee. In wartime sailors are fully aware that not only are they likely to be attacked but may die at sea, if not also from the natural dangers that come with sailing to begin with, the sea has ever been a cruel mistress. So knowing Sam survived sinking ships he'd be sort of a good luck charm, sailors all hoping some of that luck would rub off on them when their ship inevitably comes under fire.

Unsinkable Sam’s name on board the Bismarck is unknown. He was given the name Oscar after being picked up by the HMS Cossack because Oskar or O in sailor talk means man (or in this case cat) overboard.

4:50 is that a typical Self American self insert I hear there? The attack on the Bismarck was not an ALLIED operation it was 100% a British one No other navy or airforce was in the engagement. The only other nation whom had a ship in it were a single Exiled Polish destroyer (ORP Piorun) operating under British mandat as they had fleed to England following the invasion of Polland. So can't really call it an Allied operation

@@austinblack7991 Correct he were the acting co-pilot for the plane and at the controls at the time. As he and a number of other americans had been sent to england to help training the RAF on PBY and since the US were not offically in the war at the time it still can not be called an Allied attack when there were a grand total of 3 americans there in co-pilot roles. Something the US even slammed the British for allowing in a combat situation as it went against the role they had been assigned by the US.
