We are installing the door frames. Head joints of all different thickness and just looks likes they have no pride in their work

Hi John, they were always in a hurry, and wanted to get things done as fast as they could, but they all had that figured out when they did the estimate and contract, I think the average was at least 100 - 125 block of day and they wanted two guys On a 12 inch block, That’s what they were expecting then, I don’t know about now, thanks Mike

@@MikeHaduck I understand, and I can appreciate your art, and trade. I am concerned with the false narrative of history. The bulk of that Cathedral was thrown up in 5 years, like they say. With that in mind, you have to start with a different approach. Anyone does. The narrative of the initial building is almost laughable. What little of it you can find. There just isn't enough information on the construction itself, to speak on, as a fact. It wouldn't hold up, in small claims court. I need receipts.

Hi Mike the practical wisdom that you share has helped me 1 build our front steps 2 dispel many ridiculous pyrmid allen ideas 3 provided entertainment I have done nothing for you and I have no busness asking favors but I have heard bible scholars argue about Scriptual info on Jesus as the corner stone versus the capstone. I think he is both. Alpha and omega style where He's a mason and He's busting out stones from the devil's quary where they were stuck and He's polishing each one up and laying them out into a big arched dome until its complete then He is the keystone, which I am wondering if that goes last. Also, just hoping you would share more practical info on stone arches and domes. Especially corner and keystones. Last, the stone of stumbling. I think about the many cool ruins that you have shown and all the rubble. It seems like unbelivers think He's not God because God is a fine builder and He would never build out of all of us riff raff, but believers think, He is God and will. May God bless you in all the things you do and I pray the video I don't deserve to ask for

Excellent vid Mike! What a strAnge feeling it must be to wander about in such a place... is it a money issue or what? Seems partially forgotten and partially remembered in nostalgia~ perhaps the commitment necessary to undertake such a task, must less, complete it has been lost on the “new school” generation or maybe the “old school” Just couldn’t hang on any longer. One interesting note that I found -was that the funeral of Nikola Tesla was held there. He died broke ($), Sitar or FX? The mix was a little low and I couldn’t tell! Take care.

Hi Dr, i’m still Ttying, to come up with a solid answer for that, the new cement is harder and drys faster ..... yet lime Seems to be more forgiving drys a lot slower and they don’t use expansion joints, They are still using hydrated lime in Europe And I rarely even hear about it here, So I don’t have a solid answer yet, but I’m getting close, thanks Mike

Great video. Too bad it's unfinished but attitudes have changed about building extravagant church buildings. Church leaders decided it is more important to help poor people which in truth is what the Bible instructs us to do.
