Couldn’t figure out the tenor till I heard him sing. Love these guys and love Kirk. Danny has an amazing voice too but Kirk is fantastic in his own right.

Wow, first time I heard this vesion of this song with Kirk Talley as the tenor, and man oh man, good thing Danny was the one after him cause this song suited Danny's voice better, it seemed like Kirk was struggling singing some parts of the song, while in the version with Danny he was seamlessly hitting the high parts with power and with ease. Kirk is amazing tho, just saying that the song didn't suit with him as much as Danny's voice did.

Roger Bennett was my friend. I was at a Cathedrals concert in Strawberry Arkansas the night that Kirk Talley gave his notice. Roger said that the "old men" weren't going to be happy. Kirk's reason for leaving the Cathedrals was that singing so high was killing his voice. Danny Funderburk was the best tenor the Cathedrals ever had in my opinion.
