Was there that night in Lenoir, NC at the George Younce Homecoming celebration. What a blessing for a late 20’s young man! Starting following the Cathedrals in 1981 just after Kirk, Roger and Mark joined the group. What a wonderful quartet. GOAT!!

Legendary. One or the greatest quartets in Southern Gospel music.

The Cathedrals were the best Southern Gospel Quartet ever to stand on a stage. Just fabulous.

I grew up listening to my Grandmother's Cathedrals albums. She lived to be 104. What a life knowing Jesus. Music involved brings you closer!

Love it! The Cathedrals were my absolute favorite Southern Gospel group. Went to many concerts at the Dayton Memorial Hall with them there. They were the group I always wanted to see the most. ❤💫

Love the song, and it's done by the best quartet ever.

How are those folks just sitting there until the very end? This old-fashioned "Baptecostal" would've either been standing in the chair shouting or running around the tent

Much appreciation for the upload, Ernie! You and Scott were just babies in this one😝. Image me think of the first time I saw The Cathedrals in person - probably somewhere the time frame if this performance - y'all were at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Decatur, GA and the love performance was so so good . I remember that George wore yellowish-tan cowboy boots with his suit. Great times for which I'm so grateful - all the group's wonderful music then and going forward - will never be a quartet quite like The Cathedrals. God bless you and yours!

As much as I love the song, the performance, and the way they can't end it over and over, I'm impressed by Scott and Ernie. Not so much their fresh youthful appearance, but the way they sort of look around and don't really have a stage presence developed yet like the other two. I'm not sure if Ernie was married to George's daughter yet, but he was certainly willing to do a good job on this song!

I miss the cathedrals. Still my favorite group. Ernie, when are old videos going to be rereleased to dvd and the old eternal label albums to cd? I think cathedral records started about 17 years ago then stopped after 3.

I don't like the Cathedrals on this one. On THIS song, If you want to see the best ever!! watch the video with the Speer family singing it!! Before they sang it, they had just found out that that Brock probably wouldn't be coming back out of the hospital
@kristabrewer93633 жыл бұрын
I didn't like them on THIS song at all! Nobody (and I mean NOBODY) can do this song like Ben Speer and his sisters! (and the rest of the Gaither's)

I’m afraid I have to agree with you here.

The Gaithers had 40 or 50 people singing it. I would put these 4 up against any other 4 . They were great
