"The Cave" is better than subsequent similar films of more renown such as "The Descent" and "Sanctum". Love the Patrick Tatopoulos creature design too! I wonder if James Cameron is aware of this film, because if I were him I'd hire the cinematographer Ross Emery for the Avatar sequels. I also thought that "The Cave" was a neat little entry into the 'mysterious creatures hiding in the darkness' scenario, and although I did like the winged, hybrid monstrosities in this film, they did not scare the willies out of me as did the 'crawlers' in "The Descent!" That film and, in some degree, this one, started having an influence when I would take an escorted tour of any commercially operated cavern system! I'd be staring into the shadow areas behind the formations, or constantly gaze up toward the dimly-lit ceiling chambers and vaults above the pathways, listening intently to just about every drip or splash echo that reached my ears.

Spartan A111 i hate to correct you but no prometheans were ancient humans that were made that way due to the composer being shot at a fraction of them by the forerunners and the forerunners attempted to kill the creators (precursorss which are basically the gods of the halo universe) of all races , and the remaining precursors turned to dust to survive and over time that dust corrupted which when it joined, instead of forming the precursors it malformed and corrupted and became "the flood" as we know it.

I'm not sure I've ever told you how much I like your channel. I always enjoy your vids whether it's talking about a virus in video game or a virus in a movie. or just talking about something in a movie or just talking about the movie itself. and I always wanted a part 2 to this movie

Only at 1:16. Me: “gets told the basic plot” Also me: So basically The Decent?
@aymericmurer563 жыл бұрын
They were produced at the same time by different people, seems like the descent was shoted after the cave but was released a few weeks before the cave. By th way, this is quite a "basic" plot for an adventure/horror movie, the whole thing to make it interesting is to explore different environments and atmosphere, I prefer the descent because... It's the descent and The Cave suffers of several clichés and plotholes but we have to recongnize that the plot is quite interesting and perfect for an horror thriller, such a shame that it concentrates so much plotholes and lighting problems.
