My name is Deacon Hon. Mayokun Akinmoladun born over 5 decades ago before the coronation of Oba Aroloye in 1976. I will be taking us through the documentary of the "life and legacy of our revered king, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Frederick Adegunle Aroloye (JP) OFR, Arubiefin IV, the Owa of Idanre Kingdom and Paramount ruler of Idanre land.
In the chronicles of history, few rulers have had the privilege of witnessing the evolution of their kingdoms over nearly half a century, let alone reaching the age of 102. This documentary tells the extraordinary story of, a first-class monarch who reigned for 48 years. His reign, marked by wisdom, love, peace and friendly left an indelible mark on his people. While growing up, I understood his passion for forgiveness, love and how he would always pray for his community.
Born at the dawn of a new century, the king entered a world of tradition and expectation. His childhood was filled with rigorous education, learning not only the art of governance but also the history and culture of his people. Even at a young age, he exhibited a keen intellect and a deep sense of duty.
The monarch's journey to the throne was not without its challenges.
The king, however, was well-prepared. His extensive education and experience allowed him to navigate these challenges with a steady hand. He established himself as a monarch who valued tradition but was not afraid to embrace progress in the community.
As a leader with distinction, he gave room for team work and delegation of authority as this was reflected in administering power to the Baale, Olu and Oba of various town in Idanre land.
Under his leadership, Idanre land experienced unprecedented growth such as Infrastructural projects, political growth, human development and education was expanded across the length and breadth of Idanre land.
As the years passed, the king's reign became synonymous with stability and prosperity. His wise and measured approach to governance earned him the respect of his subjects and the admiration of foreign leaders. He was known as a mediator and a peacemaker.
The king's leadership style was characterized by his ability to adapt to changing circumstances. He recognized the importance of balancing tradition with innovation, and his policies reflected this understanding. He supported the growth of industry and establishment of higher institution in Idanre while also preserving the kingdom's agricultural heritage, ensuring that both urban and rural areas thrived.
Oba Aroloye's good character, love and legacy was not only felt in the community but exemplified in his home as he trained his children while injecting the spirit of love and peaceful coexistence among his wives, the (Olori's).
As the king entered his later years, his physical strength began to wane, but his mind remained sharp and his spirit indomitable. By now, he had become a living legend, a symbol of continuity in a world that had changed dramatically since he first ascended to the throne. Oba Aroloye lived a fulfilled life. In manifestation of the love of God for him, the entire Idanre sons and daughters home and abroad celebrated a monumental 45th Coronation Anniversary where his long term dreams of how his palace would be was fulfilled.
Despite his age, the king continued to play an active role in the governance of Idanre land. His decades of experience were invaluable, and his counsel was sought by leaders both within and outside the kingdom.
In his 102nd year, the king's long and illustrious life came to a peaceful end. His passing was met with profound sorrow, not just in his kingdom but across the world. The news of his death prompted an outpouring of grief, as people from all walks of life reflected on the impact he had made over nearly a century.
The death of the king marked the end of an era, a period of unprecedented stability, growth, and cultural sustanance. Yet, his legacy lived on in the institutions he had built, the reforms he had enacted, and the values he had instilled in the people of Idanre.
Meanwhile, his children has expressed their joy over their father who lived a fulfilled life. They extended their appreciation to the entire community for the unwavering support their father received during his reign and after death.
The king remained a towering figure, a symbol of what a ruler could achieve through a combination of vision, humility, and a deep sense of duty. His legacy continues to shape the kingdom he once ruled, and his memory is cherished by all who live under the institutions he helped to build.
Idanre is meticulously prepared and looking forward for a successful transition of who will take after the good legacy of Oba Aroloye.
This documentary stands as a tribute to a monarch whose life was a beacon of leadership and whose reign will be remembered as one of the most remarkable in the history of Idanre.
