Thanks for this excellent video. My great grandad worked in the pit, although a decade or two earlier. His own father Alexander Gray was killed in an accident there in 1871. I'm only really finding out about much of the history just now, so this is good to see.

Very sad story indeed Sandy. I wasn’t familiar with it to be honest. Good to see local history given the respect it deserves. Sadly quite rare these days it seems.
