I’m really going to miss this place, of the several chateau KZbinrs I follow, I love your channel the most. I don’t even know why because the intricate, fancy decor it’s not my taste at all but I can’t wait for each video you put out. It must be a mix of you both and the beautiful vision you have for the place, this gives me hope for your next chapter.

I am so impressed that you now have restored and decorated the dinning room, a small bathroom, the salon, the hall flooring, the front door and now the hall walls with one door to complete, then everything has been restored on the main floor....minus the two end rooms. Even in the two end rooms, you have already restored the beams and flooring....so wow!! Then there are the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms.....wow!! (hope I didn't miss anything) You have come so far since you turned the key into this beautiful chateau....Very impressed!! Also everything you have done outside to the property and outbuilding. 👏👍

I looked at the website of your estate agent, the pictures don't do the property justice. The hallway hallway is not featured. The estate agent should also try to get the old pictures of the previous sale removed from the internet. Great to see you are working so hard on the chateau.

You guys are killing me! I spent yesterday rewatching all the old videos that showed all the nitty gritty stuff including the roof, top floor, cellars and outbuildings etc. I was trying to find things to dissuade me from wanting to buy the chateau. As I commented before we can’t buy for another year because of high school. So I know someone else will snatch it up in the meantime but I can’t stop thinking about it so wanted to find something that was a deal breaker but I couldn’t! Everything just reinforced my desire. The heating system and roofs were my biggest concerns and now you have taken care of the heating and insulation, my video deep dive showed me the roofs are mostly new (in the grand scheme of things). So instead of putting me off now I am even more convinced the Château is perfect for us, it’s even in budget! I love the property itself but also love of everything you guys have done so far. In terms of renovations and decor (loving the hall btw - it may be my favorite). The only thing left on my con side is the location … We had thought we wanted to be further south and had primarily been looking in Lot and surrounding areas. You are about 6 hours away from my parents home, but right now I am 4,000 miles away so that makes Mayenne just down the road by comparison! The only solution I can see is either my twins both drop out of high school or we win the lottery so we can buy without selling up here first! Neither of those are going to work though 😢😉😆

I've unsubscribed to a few of the chateau channels, because of sloppy tactics, shortcuts, or repetitive phrases used over & over. This is one of the best - immpeccable work ethic. Always show what they are speaking about and not got the camera glued to their faces, saying the same thing repetitively is super annoying. Excellent quality, done right.

I have , too. Honestly, some of them are so lazy and/or have no designs skills but think they do. I just unsubscribed one that was opening their orangery with a huge part of the ceiling missing and dirty, stained walls and they were opening for events like that! Can't handle it.

Once, I wrote that the castle is like a fairy tale, and you turned that cinderella into a beautiful princess and now she shines with her beauty. I can only compare your castle to Billy's castle, which has the same charm. The other castles are beautiful, but these two have that kind of thing. I hope the new owners will see your channel and appreciate all the hard work and effort you've put into renovating this place. You're moving to England in small steps, so I think there's already someone willing to buy the castle, and it's the last moments here, and soon a new phase of your life will begin.🍀🍀🍀

Good job getting in the new boiler and the insulation, 2 big important jobs off the list (well, after Adrian finishes plastering the ceilings). No doubt you have sat down and made a list of jobs to prioritize finishing asap as you can't know when it will sell. Maybe you could talk about that in the next video? Also, what are you thinking about the area around the staircase - not just the skirting boards, but the issues with the flooring as well is a big job because of the sinking. Maybe having to scratch that as it will take more time than you are guaranteed?

Can I make a suggestion?? At ur age u have raised ur children and u have a home in England plz live ur dream and go to England 1x a month and stay a week and spend time with ur grandchildren.. Or if u have a building to make a gite apartment or attic apartment for ur son and his family to come to the Chateau and stay when u want to.. Most time ur children are busy with there lives that Really how much time will u see them if u move and as they get older in the summer when school is out they can come to the Chateau to spend time what a memory to have.. If u go back to England I would look for another Chateau or Castle.. But I'm 64 live ur life.. U can't always live around ur children 😊😊 I know ur delima just think long and hard I done what ur thinking about doing then they took a job and moved..❤❤❤

I just read what you wrote and I can only say you are on the right track, because I had also finally settled in near my eldest daughters and suddenly my one daughter was offered a high position in the Netherlands, traveled there and got married a little later, And the oldest, 42, with a husband and two children suddenly think they want to live in Cyprus as the husband is a captain on a large ship and sails for Maersk, well then they just moved. Now I'm diagnosed with cancer and only have my son left, who luckily is there for me, He's even moved home for a while to help with the house and the dog, I'm deeply grateful, It's just that we can't adapt to each other's lives that can so much happening from all sides with everything. It's an incredibly difficult decision to make, but I think it's very hard when the work is primarily in England, It takes one's strength. But as I said, I can easily follow you and have been there myself, life is not always so straightforward. And Carole and Adrian look after their fantastic castle perfectly and their passion for the place shows clearly, they are incredibly talented. Can understand that sometimes it is difficult for them and being in two camps all the time. Wish they were retired and won the lottery because it's sad they have to make that decision,

@@livmaria942 - So sad to read you where diagnosed with cancer…I understand your deception concerning your daughters living so far away. Good thing your son is around. I live a similar situation but I do not have cancer though. I am always reminded of a passage of a small book called “The Prophet” from Khalil Gibran concerning children (this is a very small summary). He said that children pass through our bodies (the Mother) to become adults of tomorrow … I know sometimes we would prefer they would be close. I have come to terms with the fact that they do not belong to me but to the World with much tears and reflection because I miss them so much sometimes. I repeat, blessings your son is around. Take care and maybe your treatments will bring You a glimmer of hope. Take care ☺️

It seems to help spread light through the space. I would certainly do that here. Top and bottom edges can also be made horizontal and vertical, rather than perpendicular to the ceiling slope.

Wow thats one hell of a push forward, do you plan on doing the first floor hallway as well on top of doing the top floor, will the top floor just be blank canvas stage for the sale.

No no no!!! 😮 I have worked on three Manor House’s in my time, two of which had done what your in the proses of doing, and that is putting a false ceiling in without removing the remaining plaster. What happens is, the old plaster on the laths will continue to drop on the your new boards ( not sure if your going to insulate this cavity) this will create uneven weight bulging and cracking. We have had to remove all new ceiling ( due to this issue) and then remove all fallen old plaster and remaining old plaster stabilise laths, or remove, fix lite boarding to the timbers, refix your framework ready for your plasterboard. ( insulate this space if you wish. What your doing is ( sorry to say) a quick unprofessional fix, this is going to cause a headache for someone in the future.

Hmm yeah the chandelier looked too 'pointy' for me but it was a lovely piece. I hope the renovations and move to the small home is going smoothly.

You do such beautiful work, Carole. I was just mentioning it on another vlog, Dreaming of a Chateau, www.youtube.com/@DreamingofAChateau, a young couple renovating a Villa on Lake Como. A beautiful vlog and she was repairing cracked marble and a bunch of us were telling her about your technique and how great it looked on the mantel.

Do you feel somewhat sad now as your finishing some of these tasks up? I do hope things work out for the best for you both... but as a Grandmother myself I do understand... when I think about how I would like to move to England or something I know I can't ... I don't want to leave my Granddaughter... and my kids... much as I would like to live there... don't think that is going to work... besides I'm nearing 60 now and I just don't think I can do that.

See Carole and Adrian! I’m catching up! The whole energy level and loss is being sorted! To me it’s a testament to both of you wanting to get the plan for the chateau for another owner right. Obviously I have another few weeks to catch up on. Just in jest! Carole got a line? Party time
