This is such a fantastic idea for a series, following people searching for chateaus and te-building it. Such an insane thing both things aren’t more thought about really, wich is when you know when an idea is good, when you go like ‘how didn’t we all thought about it before?’ 😍

Michael. My second comment is about your copper beech trees. Again, when I saw them I immediately reacted to the fact that when I was in California in the redwood forests, they refer to the circular growth pattern as Fairy Circles and believe that the circle of younger trees grew from the "Mother" tree which eventually died and left the young trees growing from her roots. And finally, the third comment is about your oak tree. The wild boars are possibly not only digging for acorns, but for truffles which grow on the roots of the French oak. That would be worth more than the "gold"!!

Thank you for bringing up the circle of trees! Now I know it's called a Fairy Circle. There's definitely a special significance to having 8 trees in a circle and that space is special. There's a deeper more spiritual meaning. Wish I knew what it was. Too bad so much of the old lore has been forgotten.

Based on the photos and footage Michael's show it seems like it was in Rough shape when they bought it, derelict in a lot of places. I wouldn't be surprised if they bought it for the same cost that a normal middleclass - uppermiddleclass home would cost. And part of the reason they've been able to Afford to do the work they've done so far based on everything they've said is because they've done almost all of it themselves; not only all of the renovations and maintenance/ cleaning but making all the curtains, doing the upholstery themselves, Michael said that Billy and Gwen had been collecting the furniture for like 5 years (probably from thrifting and antiquing) and restored it themselves. Also, as I mentioned the only way they're probably able to afford the taxes and maintenance and renovations and stuff for the place is by hosting weddings and renting out the guesthouse and things. The only reason they were probably even able to get the chateau was being of an inheritance (so I read someone say) and if they were just some average boring couple they probably would've bought some nice townhome or something in London and people would've thought "oh yeah that's nice" but it wouldn't have been anything out of the ordinary. Now, Could they have money / have already been upperclass before they bought it? Yeah sure of course. All I'M saying is that if you do something like this right [make sacrifices and save up, take your time to do your research, find something cheap that needs a lot of work, do said work yourself, host events to have the property pay for itself (or at least break even), maybe even go in with a number of family members or friends on a project like this, ect], you do Not have to necessarily be rich to do something like this :)

@@keandric2765 Don't get me wrong, I grant that to them, I just thought it was a little bit ironic to say that quote because they look so rich now. I did not see the progress they made before.

I love the music chosen for these vlogs. It was funny with the telephone call from Stephanie, I guess Michaels phone was plugged in to a currant bush 🤣🤣🤣🤦‍♀️ Lol. That is a good idea for the gold panning for guests, something different. I enjoyed this vlog too, I think I will enjoy all of them! 👍

Abhinav Bhise I was just thinking the same thing about the stream. We had a creek behind our home when I was growing up and we spent hours playing in it. A babbling brook is music to my ears.
