DUE TO THE FREQUENT HELPFUL COMMENTS I’VE RECEIVED: I realize the “volume” of rain that the PNW gets isn’t as useful of a metric to compare between this region and Ohio. So I did a little digging. Turns out, on average, larger metro areas like Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR receive an average of 150-165 days of rain annually. Ohio gets around 135 days; according to usclimatedata.com -- I am still willing to stand by my point that rain alone is not as big of a determining factor for amusement parks succeeding in this area.
Let's face it, there aren't all that many amusement parks around here in the Pacific Northwest. Why is it this way? In this video, I aim to tackle that question, as well as discuss the story of Wild Waves and how it indicates the overall situation fairly well.
All of the footage here was captured with permission of each park's media departments.
