I have the dual fuel version of this generator and after about 70 hours of use I love it. I have not put a drop of gas into it and I dont intend to if I can avoid it. you lose some capacity by using propane but the trade off is that you dont have to worry about bad fuel and you can store propane indefinitely without needing stabilizer or about fuel system issues that gasoline creates
@aaronstestlab Жыл бұрын
Great point. That said, I think people worry a bit too much about gas going bad. If you recall that little Predator 2000 I used in this video for comparisons sake. It's about 5 years old now. I've never used anything other than stabilized fuel in it, and it always starts in just a couple of pulls every spring. So yeah, it's an inconvenience to use gas, but it's also a pretty minor one.
@miket2172 Жыл бұрын
I thought about this, and I agree but I went with the gas with remote start I really like that feature but I wish it was dual fuel

I ordered the Dual fuel electric start model, and I was sent this model. I needed it for my RV. Got refunded the money and also got to keep this model. I need the Dual fuel as traveling with Gasoline and a RV is not fun. Very nice review of this generator.

Nice. Having the option ton run on propane is clutch when RV'ing. I also know from experience.

Do you know if there is a way to put a muffler or extender on the exhaust? I'm looking at using this at my acreage but have neighbors and I don't want them to have to listen to it so going to build a shed for it and need extend that exhaust outside of the shed. Great video, thanks!

I've never used one, but I know you can find generator exhaust hoses on Amazon.

I’m considering this one over the predator 3500 but I can’t make up my mind
@aaronstestlab Жыл бұрын
I'm assuming you mean the Predator 3500. In that case, I'd say the Champion wins. Both run the "China 212"..which is what I call the 212cc engine that everyone aside from Honda/Yamaha use. Otherwise, the Champion is a bit more powerful and comes with a 3-year warranty vs Harbor Freight's garbage 3-month. Main benefit to the Predator is electric start.
@miket2172 Жыл бұрын
@aaronstestlab how many hours do think the Chinese motors will last ? is it really worth buying a Honda or Yamaha I went with the champion if I used it all day every day I would consider spending the money but couldn't justify for just back up power
@aaronstestlab Жыл бұрын
I honestly don't know. All I can say is that I've had the Predator 2000 for about 7 years. Aside from using stabilized fuel and yearly oil changes I don't really do any maintenance, yet it still starts in 2 or 3 pulls.

@@aaronstestlab my Predator 3500W Inverter Generator retailed for around $700, I got it for $560. Our Champion 4500 was around $850 which includes it's "sale price of $350 off retail coupon" and I prefer the Predator. And bonus -- the Predator has an electric start.

Next time, cut the tape at the bottom of the box and lift the box instead of the generator which, more often than not, will simply lift WITH the box when you do it the way you did..

Why would you compare a 38A (Champion 4500W) to a 16A (Predator 2000W) generator? Not a fair comparison at all. But I get that this is just your opinion. Why not compare it to the Predator 30A (3500W) generator? I have both and actually prefer the Predator 3500W Inverter Generator. A plus is the Predator has an electric start. The handle that the Champion has would have been nice on the Predator though...
