Anything that's not under 0 should be a legal start. Tired of this "you started TOO fast" nonsense.
@CalvinHikes
@CalvinHikes 7 ай бұрын
Right. If they are judging the too fast start, they are judging people's motives. The assumption is that the racer was anticipating the start and simply gambled correctly. They use the clock to judge someone's motives and that is just... Feels like terrible sportsmanship on behalf of the rule makers.

@@CalvinHikes No, that's not it. The human ear cannot hear sound faster than the speed of sound. So they add that time (.1sec) to the time the gun goes off. Any start BEFORE that time did NOT hear the gun start and therefore should not have started.

@@AngstCrescendo wrong. It's what the world athletics believes is an appropriate "neurophysiological reaction time." Trouble is, it has been repeatedly discredited by scientists. So they're penalizing people for reacting faster than what they think the fastest reaction time should be which is ludicrous when your trying to find the fastest person on the planet.

From what I understand, Jacobs was born in America, so I don't understand why he runs for Italy. Is one of his parents from Italy? Regardless, he's a talented athlete. Kudos to Jacobs for his victory in the 100 meters! I can't wait to see what he does in Paris.

I think jacobs mother was Italian and his father a the military, his mother returned to to Italy when he was young and so he grew up there without the father around.

If any sri lankan watching this video, this is why Yupun chooses Sri Lanka over Italy. There is no chance for Yupun if he tries to represent olympics by representing Italy.

Some women and men are struggling and some people are doing their best to save their peak time performances for the 2024 Olympic Games. It's not good to max out a few races before the Olympic Games; especially the Olympic final. Bolt is the overall best as of yet. Let's see what happens.
