chrysalis slowly escaped in mlp comics issue 102, and the gray pony said, she's early. so that could indicate that those three were never going to be turned to stone forever. they probably were setting this up for them to return in g5.

The better question is, Where are they in Gen 5? Last time we saw them, they were in some garden in Canterlot, and after Gen 5, we saw Canterlot very much run down and abandoned.

I think they should be released, even if they are bad villains, they shouldnt be just staying a stone statue forever. Ive always felt a little bad to their ending, and i think they could be reformed. Cozy glow especially.
