The Changelings had the potential for an actual arc (one that didn't happen on a whim and just for a new look), and they could've been as formidable allies to the ponies as they were enemies. They could've been a representation of a fierce, protective form of friendship that would've diversified the show on many levels.

There's a pretty steep difference between a dictator and a monarchy. While both have just one ruler, that's where the similarities end. A dictator rules with force and in absolutes. A monarch usually has councilors and makes decisions based on what they believe would be the most beneficial for their people and/or country. That said, there are varying degrees where those lines can blur for a multitude of reasons.

It would probably take up a lot more magic to change into something like a Ursa major since they're not only strong but massive and the changelings are like only around the size of ponies besides the likes of Thorax so they'd likely need a boost to shape shift into such powerful creatures.

I don't usually comment, but for aproximately 8-9 years now, I always come here at the 2nd of every month (time zone shenanigans). Since the show ended, I have a fear that one time, I come here, and just don't find another video, so I'm nervous when opening youtube. I started watching your videos at the end of middleschool, and since then, I got to high school, graduated, and now I'm hoping to graduate collage soon. So it's safe to say that I grew up on your videos. I'm over 21 now, so if you keep it up for about four more years, I'll be able to say that for half of my entire life, you defined the second day of every month for me. Please, keep it up! Starlight calling Pharynx a lost call is kind of odd considering how stubborn she was when she was evil. I think it took longer for her to be reformed. They had to witness the end of existence for her to convert! So that's kind of not her place to call someone a lost cause.

I thought the "lost cause" line was about him fitting into the hive, not whether he was evil or not. Starlight doesn't go from the line to magic laser'ing him or turning him to stone. She just goes to Thorax, because if Pharynx insists on throwing paint and hissing at people, his victims are justified in insisting that they don't want to be around someone like that 24/7. They were a backtalking, unnecessarily loud mob about it, but they had a point; if you don't want to accommodate society, you can't expect society to accommodate you. It was *Pharynx* who was *choosing* not to be respectful on a very basic level, and there's no way of responding to that other than "maybe life in this hive isn't for you". The ending involves *both* sides changing and making compromises.

Pharynx actually didn't really have a point. In order for him to be legitimized, Starlight had to revert a solution (that was already working) to bring back a problem (that was already fixed). If the hive wasn't fine _before_ Starlight and Trixie showed up, _then_ the episode could have properly discussed whether or not Pharynx had a point, rather than Starlight coming up with yet another "admittedly terrible plan" to force it.

And don’t forget to go through the hundred or so comics to see if any fan theories have been confirmed/ disproven. You’d better have 2 videos in case no one wants to sit through and hour of video. Also make sure it’s got a good thumbnail or people won’t watch it, so your hard work doesn’t amount to nothing

"To Change a Changeling" is another personal favorite season 7 episode of mine! It was a real treat to see the Changelings again, Just as it was nice to see that Thorax was doing better at being the leader of the Changeling Kingdom! One of my all time favorite parts of this episode is the part with the feels forum, It was interesting to see the Changelings have some form of group therapy. And when the counselor Changeling lost her temper that always made me laugh. And even though a lot of people in the fandom didn't like Pharynx, I really liked the color pallettes of both his corrupt form and reformed form! And the fact that Pharynx had horns just like Thorax it always made me think that Thorax most likely made Pharynx both the head of the Hives defense but also 2nd in command of the Changelings. In conclusion, I overall enjoyed this episode!
