Craig please look at the rules on the FA website and educate people with your platform. It has a clear diagram to show what is handball and also clearly states it is an offence if player scores in the opponents' goal: directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper. can’t post the diagram here but it is a very small section of the shoulder that isn’t an offence and you basically draw a line horizontal line from your armpit. Suppose they could enforce the kit sleeve being a different colour from the armpit but doesn’t come enough to do that!

We've been terrible so far this year. There’s been a complete lack of energy, no pressure on the ball, and zero composure when in possession. We’ve also been tactically one-dimensional. Last week’s game against Southampton was a prime example-we were overrun in midfield, and Howe didn’t make the necessary changes to adapt. He sticks rigidly to the 4-3-3 formation and is slow to make substitutions. Right now, it feels like we're watching Steve Bruce football all over again. Changes should have been made at halftime today. Longstaff’s first touch is always in the direction of the pass, which is basic football; he’s not Premier League material. I love Murphy, but his first touch often gets away from him too. Trippier must stay and start, as should Barnes. Anyone but Longstaff should be in central midfield. I don’t understand Howe’s obsession with having centre-halves play on the side that matches their dominant foot. Just put Kelly in at centre-back and let Hall play left-back.

Hey Craig. Try putting your right hand on your left arm where you think the ball hit. Then lift your left arm up and down and if your right hand moves then it's handball, if it barely moves then it's not (as you'll be above the armpit so almost on the shoulder as per the FA rule book). For me it hits the bicep area. This whole sleeve line thing seems to be some new fangled myth of a way of describing where it's allowed to hit. What if you're wearing long sleeves can it hit anywhere down to the wrist. Maybe they should all wear vests!! I reckon all these pundits saying it should have stood would be arguing different if it was their club it was against. If we'd scored a goal like that and had it chalked off I'd understand and if it was allowed I'd be thinking we got lucky.

The front three seem too disconnected, often playing too far apart, which limits our attacking options. There's too much hesitation and sideways passing, and not enough forward momentum. Our back line was shockingly vulnerable, and the lack of a creative CAM left a glaring gap in the middle behind the striker. Frankly, we looked worse than poor, and it's becoming a pattern to only push forward after falling behind. It's frustrating because it feels like we're regressing, losing the style and identity that once defined us.

Of all the key signings in the current era, none were more significant than Tripps, imho. Apart from an uncharacteristic dip towards the end of last season, he’s been 💯 on the case in every way. His ability, experience, commitment and leadership qualities are essential to the team’s success. He has to stay! Eddie Howe said he’s picked Tino to start because had a good preseason. Harvey Barnes had a good preseason too but although Anthony Gordon was wasted on international duty, he has been first choice on the left wing. That doesn’t make sense. Gordon’s great on the left but so is Barnes - the right side is where the issue is and we’ve seen a potential solution, as you have highlighted, Craig. 👍

Without Wilson on the bench…. Eddie likes to have a game changer on the bench. In this game it was Harvey. If Wilson were fit maybe we would see Barnes, Isak, Gordon starting.

..my comment got lost somewhere, love your channel and TTR. We are lucky to have 4 points all said and done. Gordon a big disappointment for me as his character previously I didn’t expect it. Please bring on the transfer deadline and a focus.

Last season awful away from home , have lessons been learned, no right winger yet , big week for Newcastle, cup game and tough match against Spurs , 2 wins everything be OK , but 2 defeats it might just be another long season

They should shorten the transfer window so that it closes closer to when all European leagues start. We really ought to have got some of our business done earlier.

Competition for places is vital. Not bringing many new faces in has added a small vibe of complacency amongst some of the players. Barnes Trips and Hall all came on with a point to prove. CB RW and I still think we need to strengthen CM. We lacked bite in midfield and and quality in the final third from the 10 position.JL7 and SL were poor. We lost possession and the game in midfield IMO. Hopefully Sandro can bring us up to higher levels when he returns very soon.I hope Gordon finds his confidence again. The Euros look to have affected him and possibly the Liverpool links.

Agree Craig. We can't lose Tripps. He's a leader on that pitch and Bruno isn't. Tino has been very disappointing so far in the games he's played including the friendlys. We need Tripps for the good of the team. Thanks for another keeping it real video Craig

Totally agree with your comments, we must keep Trippier, theres many times with Tino/Krafth get exposed due to experience. I would defo start Barnes LW with AG RW as thats what he was bought in for according to the prime documentary

Let's play Willock instead of Longstaff
@TonyODOnnell-tt8gh2 ай бұрын
Longstaff should of been sold last season, if it wasn't for the injuries. He's not good enough, end of !
@edbobcat19932 ай бұрын
Good question the Joe Linton error, but he's due for average game from time to time. I think he is not yet the team leader yet and he's gotta learn to inspire those around him. On the flip side he plays better when subs come on

Can sum our transfer team up in 2 words, absolute shambles. Its doubling damaging cos if we dont show ambition soon Isak & Bruno will be off!!

Joelinton was playing with lead in his boots yesterday.

Stop the pursuit of Guehi! Spending the whole budget on a CB makes no sense! You're right! I would also rather Spending that money on a RW. Even if no one else comes in. I would also add a midfielder with attacking quality to link midfield with attack, and just add additional quality next to Bruno and Tonali. I would add that RW and midfielder over CB!

the problem is we havent refreshed the key areas in the team, its the same play and same players give or take for basically 2 seasons now, we offer nothing different compared to the last 1-2 seasons and as a result are becoming very easy to set up against the moment our players arent all 100% at it, like a few vs today we struggle

Are we gonna mention how and why Nick Pope who's one of the best shot stoppers in the PL can't kick a football?

A couple of things I've noticed over the last couple of seasons. Joelinton always takes a few games to regain his sharpness. I also believe Howe may over work players leading up to games after various breaks. Players always seem lethargic and tired when starting games after breaks with home support in particular, carrying players through. I expect things to suddenly start improving performance wise from now on, but time will tell.

Spot on review. That middle hour was very poor. Need barnes in from the start i dont care about gordon’s england hopes of playing on the left (and neither did england in the summer). This is about the best 11 being on the pitch for newcastle.

Agree Trippier and Barnes made a big difference but don't forget Hall! Lloyd Kelly is rubbish at LB, not just because Semenyao roasted him all day, but because he offers nothing going forward either. At least Burn is reasonably defensively solid at LB. Hall's dynamism down the flank offered some width from full back which allowed Barnes the space - Gordon was isolated all game when he played down the left, it didn't help he kept cutting in meaning we had no width all game as Murphy was shackled to RB for some reason. We must start Hall or Burns at LB. Kelly is a backup/ cup CB only.

Lloyd Kelly is absolutely useless

Mmm we’ve got better players than Bournemouth!! Didn’t look like it to me.Their control was better,their pressing was better,their intensity was better.Howe got it wrong today.He persists in playing average players and benching class players.Not good enough Mr H. Lloyd Kelly for goodness sake was worse than average.We MUST sign players this week !!!
@ChrisBenoit92 ай бұрын
We should've signed Evanilson for £30m. He did better than Isak today. Was a threat
@ericengleby2652 ай бұрын
Strange Howe's tactics seemed to be pushing Gordon inside nearer Isak. Which left us with no width. Saw similar things last week. Barnes changed that
@GrahamTurnbull-tg1hk2 ай бұрын
Spot on analysis Craig. Great you were watching the same game as me 👍. IMO we shouldn’t be wasting money on Guehi but on recruiting a world class manager. Howe is not a long term solution
@gillgareth2 ай бұрын
Got to start the quality players every week, Barnes on left and Gordon on the right is better balance. Dont need a right winger we already got one in the guise of Gordon or Barnes. Murphy decnet back up but he is not a starter. Tonali has to start RM and stick longstaff on the bench.
@tiffisfine16652 ай бұрын
Don't you think the Tripper problems from last year and the Bruno captaincy have something to do with the other story the Daily Mail published yesterday, Craig?
@stephenthompson49522 ай бұрын
I shook my head in disbelief last season when some fans were saying let tripps go cos we've got tino ! Ffs Tino will be a good player, but he is still learning, and Trippier is a class act. Imo anyone who thinks otherwise probably couldn't get in their school football team .
@ant25332 ай бұрын
Hall and Barnes down the left were excellent. I would stick with Hall at LB. If we'd lost to that late goal then we'd have been very upset. Right on the line for handball and we'll away from the head - very difficult for the referee.
