Pope is the new Wilson. He's becoming s liability and his kicking is shite. Pope had a shoulder dislocation, and that for a keeper, is a massive injury. Now, he has a knee problem. We should keep Dubravka and guarantee him number 1 position and let him go in the summer. Pope should be the back up. Then, get a new keeper in in the summer with a view to Pope giving up the first choice once the new keeper is up to it. Pope is suspect, and a team is always better when the whole team has confidence in the keeper behind them. There's no coincidence that our defence has picked up with Dubravka in goal.

I think dubravka has done fine whilst pope has been out but let's not get carried away. The defence and midfield have left him with barely anything to do. Also whilst I concede he's a better kicker than pope (who isnt) it wasn't long ago people were complaining about his distribution. I would be happy for dubs to move on and a new keeper who is good with his feet to come in and be ahead of pope. Trafford seems very good with his feet but I'm not sure on his shot stopping tbh. I would love chevalier or verbruggen but seems unlikely

Asked me this a month ago and I would have said yes allow him to leave but with Pope out. It's gotten harder to say yes allow him to leave. I actually respect the club for respecting Dubravka's wishes though. That Greek goalkeeper isn't a bad replacement because he'll be number 2 now.

Newcastle are horrendous for not selling players and then they get injured for a year. Stop holding on to players that need replaced, we need the money and don't want to sell our best players. So sell what we can and buy for positions we need.

What would that say to the player? - I'm not wanted. If Pope does break down, any move will be uncertain or cancelled. Dubravka needs to feel part of the team.
