Thinking about it, of the legions with history on Kronus, it would be the Ultramarines, Word Bearers and World Eaters, and when Thule found the ancient relics of the Blood Ravens on Kronus, he destroyed them and swore to secrecy. Why would he do that if there was nothing to hide about them, unless of course their parent legion was one that was shameful and would see them censured. The other part is the other proposed candidate of the Thousand Sons wouldn’t account for the Rubric of Ahriman. Also some circumstantial but perhaps pertinent evidence is the nomenclature of some of their recruiting worlds from DoW 2. The Aurelia sub-sector is one letter off one of Lorgar’s names, Lorgar Aurelian. The planet Gabriel Angelos hailed from was called Cyrene, the same spelling as Cyrene Valantion the Blessed Lady. Lastly, while their colour scheme is similar to the Thousand Sons from 10,000 years ago, it could also be seen as similar to the Word Bearer’s colour scheme during the Heresy.

Blood Ravens are probably from the Thousand Sons, which is a chaos legion. So there is some implied kinship there.

It's funny too, because the voice actor for Gabriel and old school Eliphas among others, is brother with the voice actors for most of the Marines, Orks and Eldar, like the Space Marine Squad and Scout Marine Squad. I think the guy voicing the Scouts is also voicing the Cultists, so the trio of brothers is basically voicing everything in DoW1.
