Just to make awareness for ppl, diabetics can pass out from either hypo - low sugar level, hyper - high sugar level. When a diabetic is sick the breathe can smell similar to alcohol smell. Just to raise awareness, it’s not always drunk…diabetics lose balance, slur, can’t speak as no sugar in brain depending on levels, may shake, wet themselves, not be able to walk, fall over etc….just to say it’s not always alcohol, diabetic awareness..

I suspect that Dave is First Aid trained, his approach to the sleeping guy followed the manual, the sleeping guy was breathing but not wake-able, requiring an ambulance. The women seemed more concerned with the tidiness of the park than for the welfare of it's users and seemed to want to get him moved on or taken away by the police. These untrained street wardens seem more of a liability than a benefit to the community, like the park wardens of yesteryear telling us no ball games and to keep off the grass. A band stand with no sign of a band, how sad, keep music live!

The first thing to do was to check his vitals - not shake him. If there is real concern, then there should be no assumptions, such as sleeping or drunk - it could be a medical issue. Paramedics were needed for this, not police. Considering the warm clothes being worn by others, and the bare back of the man, he was probably losing body heat, and AB's suggestion of a blanket was a compassionate need, as he was not moving, and not rugged up.

I think these 3 should be given some urgent training in basic casualty assessment and how not to be distracted by bystanders. At very least that causality should have been laid on the floor to prevent head injury and placed in the recovery position to maintain an airway. That is the absolute minimum .
