The thick mist/fog actually I enjoyed, it made the castle look mysterious, if you know what I mean. The hunting lodge with the mosaics was unbelievable. Thoroughly enjoyed this video, and looking forward to seeing more of beautiful Italia.💜

Yes we understand you Morag and you are totally right, the 'mysterious' energy only adds to its beauty!🥰 Thank you very much for your kind words, we greatly appreciate your continued support! 💚

Centra Sicily is more lush than I thought. We mostly went around the coast a few years ago.

It is an absolutely gorgeous area of Sicily, Jack! The coastal cities are definitely worth it in the summer, the centre offers a nice change of scenery in the off season! 🥰

So glad you started in Sicily. You captured the island so well (far better than a recent ‘made for tv’ documentary I saw). Many KZbin channels look for the best this and the best that - please keep your warts and all approach as it adds to what makes your content so watchable. All the best.

First of all, congratulations for the quality of the content and the light but not superficial way of telling the places and flavors of the places you visit, you were a nice discovery on youtube. Thank you for giving visibility to central Sicily, usually the average tourist visits the coast and that's it. Some more information about Enna: on the fortress of Ceres stood the temple dedicated to her and was perhaps the most important in the whole Mediterranean, sacrifices took place there and offerings to the Goddess were brought in vain, with the advent of Christianity it was dismantled and its columns were used to build some of the churches of the city. Enna is the highest provincial capital in Italy and near the Tower of Federico 2 (which you have not visited) you can see the obelisk that represents the geometric center of Sicily. The statue of Euno located near the castle of Lombardia, represents a slave who triggering a revolt, formed an army so powerful and large that he drove the Romans from Sicily for a short time and becoming King...there would be a good film about this story :). The city was defined as impregnable, the walls enclosed the whole city inside the castle that had 20 towers, it is said that Arabs took 40 years before they managed to conquerthe and succeeded only after a traitor showed secret passages underground. On July 2nd the patron saint of Enna is celebrated, the "Madonna of the Visitation", this festival replaced the cult of Ceres and Kore and in some respects in fact remains a very pagan festival, to be seen absolutely, legend has it that when the statue arrived on the slopes of Enna, the nobles of the city tried to carry it on their shoulders up to Enna, but they did not succeed, only the peasants succeeded in the enterprise and from that day the place to carry the statute in procession is handed down over the centuries from father to son to the present day. Near Pergusa you can visit the area called "Cozzo Matrice" where there is the cave that you saw during the screening at the museo del Mito, from which Hades came out (according to Diodorus Siculus) and from which you can enjoy a spectacular view, perhaps more than from Enna, the other cave from which Hades comes out (according to Ovid) is located around Lake Pergusa. You have visited the lake but you can not show it in your videos, perhaps because of the racetrack that distorts the place, but trust that even the race track can tell myths and legends. If you ever come back, for sure I recommend you visit Morgantina (where Euno was taken prisoner ) and the museum of Aidone, famous for the statues depicting Kore and Demeter / Persephone and Ceres that until not long ago, were on display at the Getty museum of New York.

Did I miss something, as I can't find any video of you visiting Ragusa. If so, its a shame that you didn't fit in a visit as the old town known as Ragusa Ibla is stunning. I remember visiting Piazza Armerina a couple of years ago and thinking that the old town would be a great place to have holiday home if you could buy one of the numerous rundown beautiful buildings. That is provided it didn't cost a small fortune to fix up.

Your visit to the Roman Villa was particularly nice as you were not squashed into crowds on those narrow walkways. The second time I visited it was super busy with tourists and really made it hard to appreciate the mosaics. Good thing I had been before when it was not crowded. I love the rain and mist and fog ... it adds atmosphere. Looking forward to your ongoing Italian adventures.

Ah no, we can only imagine what it must be like when it is packed with people 😓 Definitely one of the few places where the mist and fog give the city a silver lining, thank you for your ongoing support David, we are delighted to have you on this journey with us! 🥰

Fog is very common in Enna, so in the "bad luck" you were lucky to see it in its typicality 😆 but when there is no fog the view is fantastic, you can see almost all of Sicily including an amazing view of the Mount Etna. I am glad that you have visited it even though it is not a very famous tourist destination 🥰
