Michael P has started on my idea. I initially was asking about turning that room next to the bread oven into an external kitchen and knock that wall down or put in an arch. Could have local bread making classes and food prep for parties..
@teresacarle2944 жыл бұрын
🍞Yes, that sounds an excellent idea for a food prep & baking tutorial area. It would be lovely to have dedicated station for pizza & bread baking purposes. It would save them from buying in town too. Plus, it would furnish bread for all their catering needs. 🍽 They need a dining spot nearby for these occasions too. 🍕Otherwise, that was a long, crazy distance to be hauling hot🔥pizza. 🌧 I realize it was a bit drizzly out, but that also seemed a very hazardous prospect⚠️. ✂️ They definitely need to relocate the spa. Maybe on the other side of the floral studio!? They only need to carve out a petite portion somewhere. Surely, there is no great need until they suss out a barber, beautician, aesthetician or massage expert again. There is not even a full-time painter or artist in residence, so surely they can share the other half of that barn or utility space. 🌡Otherwise, if the spa remains where it is, the proximity to that hot oven becomes only good for a 💧sweat💦 lodge experience.
@carolelam20934 жыл бұрын
The spa was something Tomaz came up with, I think on his own. In other episodes Stephanie has already said said she wants to open the rooms together for pizza kitchen and dining. Mummy disagreed. They are both forces of nature so we will see who wins.
@JBPalmBeach4 жыл бұрын
How about that room they put the workout equipment in for storage? Because you know noone is using that as a workout room. And will be good near the pool and tennis court. The tennis court would be a great summer camp for kids in the area to come to and get instructions from a pro. Just wait until the swimming lessons, lake boat races and even people wanting to explore the grounds. $$$$. She is sitting on a gold mine. No mortgage and the money is coming in for restoration, grounds keepers and what chef wouldnt love to have a master cooking class that would feed everyone and SPONSORS are begging for youtubers that have some credentials other than 1001 ways to apply foundation with crayons. I still say the Old Mill and other buildings are prime for volunteers to come and pass on their knowledge and increase their profile online to add some money to their pockets. Btw I still would like a live feed of the place when the snow starts.

pizza baking pro tipp: you need to buy SEMOLINA DI GRANO DURO RIMACINATA which is very fine durum wheat semolina (the kind you use to make pasta) and use that instead of normal flour on your work surface and on the pizza peel, it makes a huge difference and the pizza will slide on and off so much easier! also, we add a little of the durum wheat semolina to the dough as well, about 10% of the flour weight, it makes for a nicer color and a better chew in the dough :)
@teresacarle2944 жыл бұрын

Dear Stephanie and family of Lalande, I found your channel a few weeks ago and have been binge watching ever since! I love renovation videos but yours has really touched my heart because my mother is also French. (And a firecracker as well!) My siblings and I were raised in France for a time, my dad was stationed at Orly Field when it was an Air Force base. I remember, although very young, visiting with my Granny Roulleaux, whom I adored, (she called me her "Blanche Neige") until we move back to the US. I was close to being 6 years old when my dad was transferred. French had been my primary language and my mother only spoke french to us as we were growing up so my siblings and I are all bilingual. (My spelling is atrocious however!) I have gone back to France several times but, unfortunately, not in many years. I find myself oftentimes homesick for my "Belle France" and your Vlog has blessed me tremendously! The last time I travelled to France I stayed at my Aunt and Uncle's summer home in Tourrain and visited all the Chateaus of the Loire. I almost cried when you visited Chaumont and Chenoceau. (spelling?) It is my greatest desire to return one day and I am determined to realize that dream. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your videos and I look forward to watching the next and the next! Hello to everyone from Washington State! (I probably should have written this in a letter!)

I'm taken at how good the quality is of these (FIVE) vlogs a week, without "professional" production or direction and yet we're entertained delightfully; enjoy all the "friends" we meet at Lalande; and the virtual participation in some of the daily goings-on at the chateau. Your vlog should be nominated for an "Emmy," but it is in fact, far better in comparison to those syndicated disappointments.
