Actually I think that this really difficult and hard year of 2020 fir most of the world has probably strangely been the best year for the Chateau de Lalande. The people, the projects that have been completed and although we all missed Percy, having mummy for an extended stay was a blessing. The impact of Selmar, Dan and Marie has been tremendous. My favorite part is Selmar telling his memories of his journey to the Chateau. I remember it clearly, the motor home in the courtyard, March 27th. Selmar seemed an angle descending on Lalande (the 6th member of Quarantine Diaries). It was such a scary time with the world shutting down and so many unknowns. It's such a joy to be a part of the "Lockdown Renaissance" that began with his arrival. There are many things for Lalande to be thankful for this year, Stephanie and I love that you celebrate this holiday as it's about THANKFULNESS and never concern yourselves about what the menu will be as its just THANKFULNESS.

@@ibosquez5238 totally disagree with you. Thanksgiving is an American and Canadian holiday celebration because of the history behind it, not a European one. Pelegrín didn’t settle in France and we didn’t have and still don’t have Native American in France. I love Stephanie’ s vlog but this is very bizarre and odd. This is an excuse to have a party and this is very inappropriate. She has no ties to The States, nor to Canada. Would American and Canadian celebrate Bastille Day on July 14th...I don’t think so. Even Michael Petherick questioned her last year about it (he didn’t understand it either). She gave him a very poor excuse for this bizarre idea. I am sorry but Thanksgiving isn’t just a party theme because someone wants a party. I didn’t like it last year and I am still not like it this year. No point discussing the matter because as Mummy said to her once, no point giving you my advise because you will ignore it anyway. By celebrating Thanksgiving in France, in a French Château with EUROPEAN volunteers, she is dismissing everything that Thanksgiving stand for and is about.
@Val-ht6em3 жыл бұрын
@@ibosquez5238 I don’t want to start a war either. Even in this bigger picture, NO EUROPEANS “Give thanks to Father God” in that manner or ever. It is purely an American and Canadian way to be thankful to God. I should know I am French who has lived in the UK, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and the US for the past 20 years. Even the Italian who are very religious don’t “thank God” on that particular day of the year or in this manner. I would even say that there are no others countries than America and Canada that celebrate Thanksgiving. This is the first time that I see an European celebrating Thanksgiving. Very bizarre indeed and I am questioning her motives (ie: pleasing her American and Canadian patrons may be - some self promoting). Stephanie doesn’t celebrate La Chandeleur, which is a very French religious celebration. So very weird that she celebrates Thanksgiving. May be, because she doesn’t have a great number of French subscribers because her vlog is in English so she feels that there is no need to celebrate that day of La Chandeleur (it is the day that Jesus was presented to the temple in Jerusalem and the Christians celebrated the event by bringing candles to be blessed). This is why I am questioning her motives, in that case, why doesn’t she not celebrate the Son of God?

This was really special and so heartwarming! I loved the space that was created so with such imagination! I would love to hear more of this kind of speechmaking or more like poetry reading? We follow you closely Here in Vermont Because of the camaraderie love of space, creativity, gardening, cooking. While there are no château’s in Vermont, we make our own communal space in our case it is a Gallery with Gardens, a guest house, We do readings, invite musicians at Lauredon Place. We love watching the Château diaries!

I needed this more than ever today- my partner was in a high speed crash yesterday afternoon and was lucky to walk out alive. I’ve returned home from hospital and my head is swimming, yet having watched this has given me some calm. I don’t think the La Lande-ers know just how much they uplift people. Really grateful for them xx

That is wonderful to hear. I hope he heals well, and follows the drs’ orders to the letter. Take care of yourself too. Sometimes, when we are caring for others we can neglect ourselves. Xx

Just going back to old vlogs randomly and its incredible the transformation of the chapel!! It's breathtaking. I wonder if Stephanie-marveling at the final window of St. Cecelia going back in-could ever imagine the vault and paint work being restored back then. This vlog is such a happy place for me. Such a joy to watch.

Thanksgiving! ... every culture and people understand and recognize the gift of being able to say, I am thankful, you and this matters. It is taking and valuing the gesture that is important and meaningful. All watching, Im sure, have had their personal moments of being thankful for all that Lalande and extended have shared and brought to us; it is etched in us. It may have been a catalyst for us to appreciate and savour the little gifts in our own lives and share that. I dont think we will know how far Lalande has reached. Thank you to all for letting us into your journey and lives, a precious gift that is so valued and appreciated. Thank you!

What a lovely Thanksgiving dinner. So much love went into it all. Bravo to team LaLande! Marie and Phillip created such a fairytale like atmosphere and Natie’ s speech was very moving. Selmar is there because he is meant to be there... he answered the Universe’s call and we shall see what happens next.

Happy Blessed Thanksgiving🦃, to you all LaLander's!! I am so thankful🙏 to be able to watch each & every one of you!! You all have made these difficult months & times more manageable in living life. Yesterday, I had a difficult, sad day.....I lost one of my beloved pet 🐱, my sweet Toby honey boy. I have cried 😭& sobbed so much, that my eyes & face hurt. I certainly did not feel like celebrating or cooking for Thanksgiving. When I saw that you posted a video for today, I thought & prayed it would make me feel better. I certainly feel better now and it brought a smile to my face in cheering me up. Thank you, for that!! 😁 I just love❤ each & every one of you for sharing such beauty, love, and friendship with us all! May God Bless you!😊 Much love ❤& hugs, From Joy Carey-- Winder, Georgia U.S.A.🇺🇸

Although the traditionalist may disagree the LaLanders "got" the essence of Thanksgiving. It doesn't matter what you serve, it's the coming together of people who genuinely care for each other and are thankful for what they have been graced with. Beautiful people, beautiful table, beautiful food. As an American you did us proud.
