I got this last year it’s a lot of fun from my kayak, I paddle around small ponds and “chart” out the bottom (chart in my head at least). Only shortcoming I’ve found so far is that it loses connection from my phone once it gets about 4-5 feet away. I’m not sure how people use it when actually casting it out.

I have the exact same one that I use for ice fishing. I use it when I am doing a quick hit and run and I don’t want to drag my Vexlar around.

Great Topic. You don't need thousands in electronics to catch fish. My first kayak had a Garmin Striker4, $100 at the time, great unit for the $

I use a garmin striker 4 ascope for jigging lakers and do just fine! just caught a 33 incher 15pounds!
