I'm new at lake trout fishing, but I'm doing very well. Your videos are very helpful and easy to understand. From using the sonar to reading the charts. I've been catching everything on elwives, bit now I'm learning how to jig for them. And I am catching them on your jigs too. You break down everything easy to understand. I will continue to watch your videos. Thank you very much for all your information

Glad to see you made it out to lake willoughby. My personal favorite lake. Average laker here is bigger than on winnepesaukee at least in my experience
@BendItFishing4 ай бұрын
It seems to be way better than Winni! No so picky

Great info, recently got into lakers and watching all your vids! Question about the scent. Would herring vs smelt flavour be interchangeable if your lake has both? Or is smelt the stinkier(better working of the two?)
@BendItFishing4 ай бұрын
I think any smell helps, my smelt lakes I use smelt and vice versa for for Herring

@@BendItFishing Makes sense. I also have garlic(use for bass pike walleye for years). Once I actually start catching lakers I'll try herring vs garlic.. Right now went out once so far and had some chase me from 80-40fow but no bites + using old 2D fish finder, small aluminum boat and rough conditions.. tight lines

@kktpp I've used garlic too. Watch my finiky laker video if you have issues

@@BendItFishing will do!. Also regarding glowing jigs/lures. Is there a time glowing is bad? Or basically the more glow the better.(watched your underwater cam vid and they seemed to be hitting the black cam more than lure lol). Is there a depth for recommended glow vs no glow? Also what about ice fishing since its always dark under snow covered ice. Glow always good or can be bad? Thanks and subbed!
@BendItFishing4 ай бұрын
@kktpp I use glow when I'm past 70 feet usually. It also flows green so if they don't want green I'll switch to white. It was weird they hit the camera but cool

Is it a bad idea to run a 1oz jig on a rod rated for 1/4-5/8? Or should I stick to 5/8 oz max? I just picked up a St. Croix X-Trek combo - 7', Medium, Fast, 6-12lb. I live in the finger lakes area of NY and was thinking of trying some jigging from my kayak on Owasco or Skaneateles.

No that's fine I do that all the time

Does it really matter if a bait glows? Does fish distinct it?
@BendItFishing4 ай бұрын
It 100% matters! There is very little light down past 70 feet in the lakes I fish and these baits are a beacon

Hey can you pour your tubes with wings in pure white?
@BendItFishing3 ай бұрын
I haven't tried to mix colors yet but I'm sure it would work

Like no glow?
@outdoorswithclem66713 ай бұрын
@@BendItFishing yeah it would be no glow. A lot of companies call it cotton white. It’s pretty much a bright white color we have found works the best where I fish.

Ya I sell one bait in pure white so it's possible

Now let me ask you. Do you yourself make these jigs and jigheads. Or do you have them made for you be 3rd party???? Do you ship them out to your customers yourself??

So the jigs I have leadfreebassjigs.com make for me and the plastic part I make and ship out of my garage
