The cheapest St Dupont Lighter ever! Is it worth it??? The Hooked

Nice made in China lighter, made out of recycled material. Only problem is the paint. It chips easily... Buy the brushed silver one. The trigger is not plastic. I have the red one 6 months now. Each fill up lasts long enough. It feels a little "loose" though (at the trigger and the cap)... I 'm not sure if it is mine or all of them...

Bought 3 of them, red, orange and white. Built quality is ok, function well, looks cool in any color, but paint finish is disappointing. Starts chipping after a week or so, scratches easily, looks very bad after short time. If they address this matter would be great lighter for 55$.

Evo sad da mi ga das besplatno ne bih ga nosio, jer tako izgleda ružno kad otpadne boja sa ivica da nemam reci, pravi ciganski. Inače dizajn je lep, lepo radi, ali ne vredi ni 1.500rsd obzirom na kvalitet. Već sam 3 imao (crveni, beli, orange), svi su podjednako loše farbani.

Was looking for a slim brass zippo and came across the dupont hooked in brass/gold, and on the pictures it looked like solid metal, beautiful. I'm not necessarily looking for a jet flame and tbh I'm glad I watched this review and didn't impulse buy it. Slim brass zippo it is.

It looks like they either market it as a cheap to go keychain lighter you can use when you, for example, are golfing or for new young smokers to get them started with a DuPont in the hopes they will grow into them later on.

Yea, not just young people. Some smokers don’t like messing up there nice stuff outside. Dropping a thousand dollar lighter on a golf path is just bad taste..lol Sure seems like they’re targeting a certain audience using terminology like “HOOKED”..smh

Part of me wants to buy this for a companion to my line 2 but I have horrible experiences with jet flame lighters. They never seem to last and the electric ignition are horrible.

Frankly not worth it. Used it for 3 months, black finish is some sort of nylon cover that started to peel off, and then the cap stopped aligning and closing properly and finally after three weeks of struggle broke off. It looks good new, but the quality is below average

Hey! Ten eerste; top review! Ten tweede; je had het in het begin van de video over Dupont aanstekers van 150 euro, waar vind ik echte Dupont aanstekers voor zo’n prijs? (Met de mooie dupont cling)

Thanks for the review! My Maxijet just died on me and I don't feel like spending over a 100 euro's on another one, so this might be a good replacement.

After how many years your maxijet died?so these jet lighters have a lifespan?you can't repair it?

Sadly it can't be repaired, the actual metal body (a cheap zink alloy as far as I can tell) wore out and metal slivers fell out when I took it apart. Frankly I haven't had much luck with expensive lighters. I've tried a couple of Xikars as well but eventually they all die. I've since switched to cheap refillable torch lighters from the local supermarket (2 for a buck and a half) and they last surprisingly long. You can buy a lifetime supply of those for the price of just one Maxijet.

It looks like your thumb has to be very close to the flame when lighting. I bet users will get burned when using in a breeze.

KEEP THE LIGHTER NAMES ON BOTTOM OF LIGHTER PLEASE. This “HOOKED” branding is almost a deal killer. The finishes and graphics are horrid.. Don’t people have any kind of taste anymore?! Still waiting for a decent color or two tone finish..
