I definitely wouldn't use plastic bags as they may melt. You can buy Camera Flash Filters that are designed to cope with heat. I bought a pack with loads of different colours for less than £4. My Xbox One X now has a green power button.

If you are going to do this for whatever reason, because this is already a fire hazard, look for the colored screens they put over lights for movies.
