One of the small details in episode 1 that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE is that when Sora and Shiro fall out of the sky Sora grabs Shiro, and tries to cushion her fall with his own body. It really shows how much he cares for her.

I believe the creator responded to why there was no second season. It was somewhere along the lines of "The quality was hard to replicate," or so an article said. I can't read Japanese so I can't cite the direct twitter thread but if that's real, then that's pretty hilarious. _However, there was also controversy about stolen character design but from what I remember, it was quickly debunked and likely not the real reason._ My guess is that the animation team that created season 1 has been disbanded and that the anime is so beloved that any studio that touches it is immediately in the crosshairs. Studios would rather choose small or "bad" novels or mangas to adapt since its low risk. Studios like Mappa and Ufotable are usually the ones trusted with adapting things from big publishers like Shonen Jump but they already have too many projects on their hands which is sad since there's so many good mangas and novels that should've gotten an anime.

The author got in a lot of trouble because a massive amount of the illustrations/art were stolen from other works. Season 2 is basically never going to happen.

@@juvygenius My comment keeps getting erased for some reason. Probably because I mentioned the artworks being in the "R" website. In any case, I urge you to search for the side by side comparisons. It's all characters in the same poses as the pictures they picked, but with 100% of Kamiya's artwork, which is a very unique style so there isn't doubt he drew them. If characters in the same pose is really theft, you could likely get any manga cancelled just by looking around for artwork that pre-dates it. *And those overlays are no different than that documentary that overlays the pyramids with stuff from other cultures to say that aliens were behind ancient civilizations.*

This is in my top 10 anime of all time. It’s the only anime I was desperate enough for more content that I looked up not just the manga, but the light novel. Then the LN ended without warning. Said it would have another release in a few months. Several years later nothing.

NGNL was an anime I didn’t like, I disliked how colorful the anime looked, at the time I hadn’t seen the anime. A couple years later, I decided to watch it because I heard a movie was coming out, hope you react to the movie when you finish the anime. I absolutely fell in love with the anime and how funny and interesting it was. Highly recommend reacting to the movie after the anime. Hopefully you’ll see why so many NGNL fans never give up hope for a second season.

Honestly, I would love to see a Season 2 as it would adapt a bunch of important and interesting things, but I somewhat dread a Season 3 afterwards... for me, the Light Novel became stale over time, and the jokes went further and further without hitting me the right way to the point where I stopped reading altogether.

I really wish he had seen the opening at that point. I understand copyright bots are a risk, but he can always mute it, the stream wont collapse for a minute of no sound, specially when its justified. I dunno, maybe its just me, but the song at that part hits so good with the whole theme of the seties, its an opening played at the end of the first episode to signal the start of the adventure. Just feels sad missing that (and moments like that)

An incredible good anime which apparently and ironically is the reason why the creator does not give us more season even after 8 years because it may not maintain the quality of season 1. But it is a great anime with cool ideas and concepts, good story telling, incredible details, amazing music, fan service a LOT (a bit too much if you ask me) and fantastic colorful animation.

Ngnl is just a good anime, fantasy, interesting, fun to watch, budget graphic, it bothers me so much that i cant even have an anime that is a good anime like this one, nothing past year 2020 peak my interest what so ever, where as every year before 2019 i can almost name one anime that i watched, that i was invested and had general interest to continue watching it till it ended.

worlds most overhyped anime imo :/ ppl were building this up as the most insanely interesting and Death note like intelligence anime. The show aint that good imo. I'm allowed to have my own opinion, and in my opinion the show is fake smart. Never once did I actually get the impression that they are geniuses. The art direction in this show is a solid 10/10, but storywise its a 6/10 imo (if they stopped glorifying childpron, because that honestly just takes me out of the mood of the show since at least I don't wanna think of children like that). 6/10 isn't a bas score for a show, it's above average after all it just means that there was nothing really that stuck out storywise to make me impressed or long for the next episode. It was by all remarks, a bit more than an alright show, but apart from art direction, nothing special

I wanna know why you think it is fake smart because i was flabbergasted when Sora debunked the whole Warbeast's six sense and how he managed to alter the memory of the Elf and Kurami to give fake informations 4 episodes later about the Warbeast's game just for that moment. Like Sora is letting no doubt in his plan and is following it without any logical error. The whole Blank vs Jibril part was also insanely good. After all it's only my perspective, i understand if you did not get aroused. They play a game where the slightest defeat means losing because Elkia is already back to the wall, they have to play (lead) pixel perfect everything
