Do people forget how badly Boehly did as interim sporting director? I’m sure Clearlake has made plenty of missteps, but the talent ID from the new recruiting structure with analytics department + sustainable wage structure are MASSIVE leaps forward compared to the last 5 years of Abromavich’s ownership
@hnaku87483 ай бұрын
12th and 6th, 0 trophies. That's not a massive leap. The first season the performances actually dipped more after Jan 2023 (when the new structure with co-directors were implemented). Worst season points wise in 30 years, even touched Bates era when we weren't as well off financially. No one knows what we'd have done last season with Boehly fully in charge.

@ShinnaDEW4 ай бұрын
Yes it was. If you let a PE Company gain the majority of shares you are done. They brought their people in. Trimmed the TCO by major reductions in wages and transfer/agent fees. They spend most of the money so far. And it was Clearlake and NOT the consortium who bought the hotels. Boehly would need to find people who even could raise the funds needed to b/o Cleqrlake. And it seems Egbali + Filiciano is here to stay and willing to buy more stakes themselfs.

The stadium situation is an issue, I can support the idea of sustainability but I can’t get behind a lack of vision when it comes to the ground re-development. Seems I’m team Bohely, sprinkling of star dust on top of a clear investment in youth with large scale ground development. I want to be able to take my kids to games, I can’t when the grounds capped at just over 40k and ticket prices are this high.

I don’t get how either model would work without winning. When the team does well, players value increases - case in point Julian Alvarez. I don’t know which owner is better tbh.. what we need is stability and consistency on the pitch.

Hoping Boehly stays. He’s looked into buying Chelsea before Roman was forced to sell. He’s said since the beginning, the way to be a successful club is to win trophies and has a sporting vision he is trying to follow. Clearlake Capital is an investment firm that controls assets. In their mind Chelsea is an asset to make them money.

Atm Egbahli has been the guy most invested with the SD the manager and the team while Boehly has been more distant so in terms of stability a Boehly takeover would mean a new restructuring and more chaos in the short term for the club

Let's see how it goes but TQT just to let you know I understand your desire for this club to be back to where it was that dominant team once again. I want that too, but the reality is that we've invested loads of money into this project and to get those world class players may have dire consequences moving forward. We still are under investigation from the Roman era and that looks scary from the videos I've watched about it. I hope and pray all just goes well in the end. Let's see it through as Chelsea fans.

But the outcome of this matter is that clearlake are most likely to win this battle because they have more shares than Todd and are not willing to sell that so this is a crazy situation that will most likely affect the future of Chelsea moving forward.

They want to be hands-on, hence hiring two nonces as co-Sporting Directors. He’s a narcissistic micro-manager that thinks he can control every aspect of the club while having no sporting background. Egbhali has full control over Strasbourg’s operations and almost got them relegated. #ClownlakeOUT
