You always teach me something. We went to manitoulin once, mostly just used it for point A to B so didn't see much of it. Drones show so much, we just bought a mini 3 pro, just to get the hang of using one before we move up to a better model. I have never used one, my son has always done them for our channel. Its a bit scarey thinking of doing that first lift off and not crashing the darn thing

Thank you for the feedback it's very appreciated! Yes, drones can be daunting to fly, I still get nervous at times but I get a little more daring each time. I've had close calls (too windy, too close to water, too low battery) but the DJI technology has proven trustworthy. Plus I'm prepared to purchase another in the event of a drone disaster so that takes the pressure off a little. Hope this helps. Thanks again for tuning in.

Another informative and picturesque video, Daryl. I knew about the sister ship but had forgotten about it over the years!
@flynorthproductions Жыл бұрын
Thanks Rob - I had completely forgotten about it too. Then after doing the video, I found some old photos of mine that show the Nindawayma. They think a blown engine - coupled with the four-laning of 69 - sealed the fate of that ship. It sat decaying in Owen Sound for years before being scrapped in Montreal.

The end of this trail will provide a nice quiet place to fly around, if you don't mind the walking, but there are other public areas closer to the harbour as well.

Hi, nice to meet you! Very enjoyable video! Nice to walk the trails with you and learn about the geological history of the area. We have lots of evidence of the last glacial period in our area too! I’d love to visit this island, especially to see the special Iris and Orchid that grow there! 💗💜 👌👍👍 New sub, happy to support your channel! - Jennifer

Great trail! A dear friend, who has since passed away, helped build the trail. It has not been maintained however. Last time I was there lake levels had swamped the boardwalk to Make Believe Island so I was unable to reach the bench to watch the ferry. Some beautiful Grass of Parnasus flowers along the boardwalk later in the summer. I was told the rare Fringed Genetian grows there as well, but I have yet to see it from that trail. Nice video!

Thanks Lynda - I didn't know that was the name of that little island I was on. Those stairs and boardwalks must have been something to behold in their day - such creative designs and craftsmanship. They're still beautiful and very worth preserving - I hope someone will step up and start repairing some of the structures. If I lived closer, I certainly would volunteer to help. Thanks for adding value to my trip with your knowledge of the area - much appreciated!
