Join me on an adventure through Killarney Provincial Park as I explore the breathtaking Chikanishing Trail. This trail holds a special place in my heart as it leads me to the stunning shoreline of Georgian Bay, offering mesmerizing views along the 2 km journey. Starting from the parking lot beside Chikanishing Creek, known for its canoe and kayak launches, I embark on a counter-clockwise trek towards the bay, tracing the footsteps of ancient settlers and early explorers. As I navigate the rocky terrain, I can't help but marvel at the rich history of this land, from its indigenous roots to its role in French exploration and subsequent development. The nearby village of Killarney, with its storied past as a trading post turned fishing port, adds another layer of intrigue to this scenic landscape. Georgian Bay, often dubbed the Sixth Great Lake, captivates me with its rugged beauty and tranquil waters, providing a perfect backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts like myself. As I reach the final leg of my journey, a thrilling climb up weathered rocks rewards me with an awe-inspiring vista, a fitting conclusion to this unforgettable experience. Join me as I immerse myself in the beauty and history of Georgian Bay, and don't forget to hit that like button if you enjoyed the adventure!

Daryl, that was soothing for the soul... I too think the North Shore of Lake Huron is one of my favourite places. It's far more accessible than most of the north shore of Superior, I think. Man, I could almost smell the trees, woods, water and even the rocks - when they heat up in the sun, they kind of give off a scent too, I've found. Am I wrong? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Another Monday morning rescued from the pit of despair! Lol! (We're currently experiencing a "weather phenomenon" which we used to call "hail and freezing rain".) Thanks for sharing with us!
@flynorthproductions

Thanks Jeff, I laughed at your weather remark - yeah, they're going a bit too dramatic with their descriptions nowadays. And you're not wrong about the forest's fragrance, it's quite amazing to experience, especially after a rain. I've got Lake Superior on my radar, if not this summer, hopefully next. Thanks as always. ~ Daryl
