Met Chick a couple years before his passing. He was the nicest guy...very unassuming. A 20 to 30-minute chat I'll never forget. RIP...

Chick directs everybody. In the end makes the whole audience sings with his piano.Nobody can resist his musical autority. What a giant musician we have lost. His music will live forever. RIP CC

Seen Chick twice with two different trio ensembles. Had the pleasure of shaking his hand. The man was a pure savant. Patitucci is legend as well. Have not had the pleasure of seeing him...yet. RIP to Chick. Your music and soul have touched millions.

Amazing wonderful masterful music. What a treat! We are so fortunate to hear this greatness. Heard him live at NYC Blue Note with his group and it was thrilling.

All three of these guys are *formidable* players -- Chick most of all -- but their interaction is so sensitive and giving. Moving to witness.

💥 It's so good to listen to Chick playing on a Steinway piano instead of the Yamaha one. So much better, and it's a brand new piano, very tuned. 🎉❤

It's actually a big problem that a lot of lighting designers and lighting operators overlook that they need to be there during soundchecks or rehearsals and put up the lights the way they're going to be for the show because a lot of times they use a large well-known artists don't show up even just before the show sometimes and unless you can get this together it can be a bit embarrassing I think.

He was outstanding. However, I remember him brabbling Scientology nonsense at a concert at the Willisau Jazz Festival in the 1980's. Embarassing and genious at the same time.

I'm beginning to think that this total focus on improvisation is really a cop out for a contemporary scene that produces nothing of value but rehashes old themes with highly theory-based impros that the vast majority doesn't even begin to understand... Somewhat an image of a failed western society I guess... Self referential, self absorbed and ultimately going nowhere. A circus of who can string as many notes as possible in a second.
