British Columbia's Chilcotin Highway, Highway 20, runs from Williams Lake to Bella Coola. Join me for a ride from Williams Lake to Riske Creek in part one of my exploration of this legendary highway.

Country landscape at its finest! I could smell home cookin in the air, just feels like a stretch one might take to ride for breakfast or lunch somewhere! Love those big wide open grassy pastures as far as the eye can see. Don’t need stop light traffic, or city freeways or interstates, or bar hoppin; this is what riding is all about! Appreciate you, buddy!

I agree, this is what riding is all about, or should be about.

It is a really pretty drive, with very little traffic, and with a car, due to some gravel road, you can travel all the way down into a spectacular fiord on the the Pacific coast, you might want to put it on your list!

What's your number one road near the Fraser Valley?
@RobertMerz
@RobertMerz Жыл бұрын
Anything away from the Fraser Valley! You probably can guess why. But seriously if you are in the Valley and looking for a short ride I like the east half of Hwy 7. 7 is way too busy from about Mission west but the eastern portion is reasonable traffic levels, nice scenery and a few twisties. If you are coming from the west use Hwy 1 to Abbotsford and then take 11 north across the Fraser to 7 and head east on 7. Hope is very pretty, check out Othello Tunnels (if they have reopened) while you are in Hope. If you want more my first pick would be to carry on up the Fraser Canyon from Hope as far as you wish on Highway 1. Spences Bridge is about 150 km beyond Hope and that would give you the best parts of Hwy 1 through the Fraser Canyon and in my opinion lots of wow along the way. Still looking for more, and just wanting to make it about the riding? When you get to Lytton turn off Highway 1 onto Hwy 12 and head to Lillooet. At Lillooet turn west on Highway 99 and head through Pemberton to Whistler and Squamish and back to Vancouver. This is a spectacular loop that I personally would probably do in a two day run as I prefer to stop along the way and enjoy the things I find along the way. If you had asked what my number 1 road is from the Vancouver area Hwy 99 would have been my first pick up to Lillooet. Keep in mind 99 is high elevations so you would want to wait until summer before riding it.

Robert, are you close with "Purple On Three" & "PSP Tommy G".? They are Riding from PA to Montana and then up into British Columbia. "SpyderWayne" is going to stay in Fairmont Hot Springs, while "Have Moto - Will Travel" will continue North to Banff, Jasper and onto Yukon and Alaska. I was telling them if they go through Prince George they'll be within 1hr 20min from you. ;-)

Hello Angel Face. I do know Rich from Have Moto and communicate with him from time to time. I have offered some suggestions for his trip. It would be fun to meet up with any of them so thanks for passing along my info to them. How are you doing by the way?
@AngelFaceMotoRider

I am Great Robert, thanks for asking. I was hinting at the 3 of them, if they take the Prince George Route from Jasper to Dawson Creek maybe you could meet them in PG.? This way they don't have to head South from PG. The other Route still goes from Jasper to Dawson Creek, but though Alberta.(as you probably know) Or if you wanted you could meet about 7 of us in Fairmont Hot Springs.

I think Fairmont is out, I wish I could though. Prince George is doable perhaps. The issue will be how the dates work in relation to making hay on the farm. I had suggested to Rich that Hwy 40 through Grand Cache is very nice and perhaps on his return he might even attempt the Stewart Cassiar and continue south on 97 right past me and then 99 (Duffey Lake - Sea to Sky) south.

That works too.! The reason I said Fairmount Hot Springs is bcz More of us Canadian MotoVloggers are going there to Meet-Up.! ;-)
