@@risipieces if he did have it in for his dad then he'd have every reason to be dishonest about how much he really tried to "clear his father's name" just to add credence to his story. Remember, this is a former LAPD cop, you think a retired member wouldn't exaggerate on a point like this? That's just a very unlikely thing for him to try to do, not just for what he believed his father did to his sister but that it's obviously impractical, it's hard enough proving guilt let alone prove innocence. A cop would know there's nowhere to go with that.

It's sad to see the justice system and police aren't getting significantly better through time. I mean, a lot of unsolved mysteries in the past at least has corrupt police and/or a biased justice system involved-and look where we are now! Still suffering (especially minorities) from corrupt police and a weak justice system. And when the government fails, it's up to the people to rise and make (or peacefully protest for) the change; and hopefully it'll be good for the long run for real (by today's standards). @Arcuied

maybe a mini-series on the side would work better. There are many cases that although solved they're still interesting because of the methodology of the crimes or the personalities surrounding the case, of both the culprits and the investigators. Like the Unabomber for example, it's solved and the information is there to look up but I'd like to see the boys tackle it in the own style.

I am from the Philippines, the 1967 murder in the Philippines cited in this video also have the same kind of notoriety as the Black Dahlia did in the U.S. Here, the '67 murder also had an infamous name: "The Chop-Chop Lady case" and it was never solved too. I was literally shocked to learn the fact that Hodel was here at the time the '67 murder case happened. It's eerie too that '67 murder happened 20 years after the Black Dahlia.

the main problem with "truth serums" is that technically they don't necessarily force the truth out of you. It will only lower your inhibitions enough to make you either more susceptible to suggestion and less of a compulsion to lie about something. That doesn't always mean that no one would or could lie. Fun idea for getting the truth out, for sure, but not the most effective.

After reading Hodell's books about his father George, I convinced he did it. For me, it's solved. It's been almost 75 years since it happened. There's no witnesses left and scant remaining evidence.

I came back here because I read this article about Lucila Lulu, an unsolved murder case in the Ph years after Black Dahlia happened. Her body parts were dismembered and scattered in the City and was believed that it was done by someone with medical knowledge, the weird thing about it is that George Hodel went to PH during that time

George did it. This is probably the most likely suspect that committed the crime I ever seen in my life.

I have been refreshing my KZbin page for the last hour. For the postmortem: You guys should do an episode dedicated to looking back at your old cases that have new info. Just an idea. Also, thanks for making my Friday twenty times better.

Sounds cool but the chance of enough cases having new info to make an entire episode is probably very slim. That's not something that happens too often.

For Post Mortem: The one detail I seem to focus on in this case is the fact that she was drained of blood. My question is what would drive a person to drain a victim of blood? Like would they keep it, toss it out else where? If they tossed it out could it possibly be the human tissue found in the yard? Why drain it to begin with? Also did he drain her before or after he cut her in half? The whole logistics of draining a body of blood at once confuses and astounds me.
@AttackPoodle
@AttackPoodle 5 жыл бұрын
Probably before. It would be much quicker to drain her while she was still alive since her heart would actually help speed up the process. She likely would have died very quickly after being cut in half. Although if you held the pieces of her body wound down then gravity would also help....but you'd have to be fairly quick because the blood would start to congeal... I'm gonna say alive, I feel like you'd get more blood out that way.

if “making art” in his own twisted way was truly a motive, i imagine that’s why since there is such difference in color after being drained

Well she was placed where she was found. Wouldn't you rather not have a bleeding corpse in your car? Cars are horrible to clean and blood is tough to completely remove. If the killer was to be inspected by police, is the blood is all down the drain, there is nothing to look for in terms of remains in his house or car.
