The terrifying thing about possession stories and such is that they are easy to dismiss as bunk. At most, you get an eerie feeling. But one of the greatest assets attributed to the devil is that his greatest feat is convincing the world he doesn’t exist. It’s beneficial to demons to be dismissed as fairy tale and nonsense. They work from the shadows after all.

I had a Raggedy Anne doll when I was a child and she was my favorite. I couldn't pronounce her name correctly so I called her Agony Ann. I ended up losing the original doll, but my Grandmother bought me a new one that was smaller. Years later I find out the original Annabelle doll was actually a Raggedy Anne doll in disguise. The one I have isn't haunted, but I did have a life size Barbie that inhabited a spirit. My Grandpa took it to the barn because they were so scared of it and THE BARN BURNT DOWN! Dolls can inhabit Spirits for sure. I'm a believer.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some truth to the Annabelle story, if I was going to possess a doll I'd pick one with a not so subliminal skull face like Raggedy Ann. I had a Raggedy Ann 3D doll in a picture frame over my bed when I was a little kid. It was hideous and gave me nightmares even though I was allowed to watch R rated horror movies since I was 2. I had absolutely no issues from movies like The Town that Dreaded Sundown (my pretty, soft, pink blanky protected me) but the ugly doll and matching dark blue with white polka dot curtains and bedspread gave me nightmares. Go figure.

I had a raggedy Ann doll in the late 80s I believe we were at our summer family camp and I had a path and area in a grassy area I left my doll for a moment came back our German Sheppard ripped apart my doll. Not sure why but that was my short stint with my doll.

Annabelle is a raggedy Ann doll, 😲 very normal looking anything a normal child would want to play with!! the doll Annabelle in the movie was made that way to look scary for marketing strategies if they showed a doll that was pleasant and a child would want to grab it that might stop kids from wanting any dolls or toys! so the Annabelle doll was made for the scare Factor and the creepiness!!

I use to study wicca and towards the end of my religious days, I ordered a copy of the key of Solomon the king. It's definitely high magic vs wicca which is low magic. I remember some of the spells called for things like wands made of virgin birch, blood of black cats, white robes made of virgin cotton and an athame bathed in the cats blood during a consecration ceremony under a specific moon on a specific day of the month at a specific time. These extreme requirements are what denote it as high magic.

I had returned home from my trip to CT and had said that I would like to find out the identity of the demon attached to the doll. Immediately after saying that, two depictions of it flashed in my head. One from an app game I play (Puzzle and Dragons) and the other was the dream image. My research from the backstory of Annabelle, told me that it was a higher-level demon using it - the parchment that came from nowhere and the writing on it being legible and childlike. The image that flashed in my mind was that of Aamon, the grand marquis of hell.

Tbh I have done research into the lesser keys of Solomon and it does show you symbols of how demons can be summoned but I wonder if each demon needs a conduit to be physical in the real world to fulfill the desires of the summoner it's a theory because these are old books and there is still no information of how you can control demons like Solomon did so it's possible to assume a conduit or a totem something that can harbor a demons spirit would possibly be the case

This video was bait and switch! Here we believed it was a mystery artifact video, but actually we got... a Demonology Video: Belith and Malthus, double demon description! But my humor aside, I agree that the real world Annabelle doll isn't traditionally frightening, that depends on people's taste. But the movie version could have started off as being more pleasant looking and during it's climax does it get creepy in appearance. A movie similar to The Annabelle movies is the Indonesian film The Doll, wherein the titular item appears benign, but proper cinematography makes it appear scary very soon. Real or not, it may be that human perception would factor in the affectivenes of demonic activities. Like in the case of Silent Hill or The Babadook, where or the grieving and the self hating people are haunted.

Hey. So this is really weird but last year in March, I had a dream I saw the demon that was attached to the irl Annabelle doll. I think I dreamt that due to the fact I recently watched the Conjuring 2, so it might have been my subconscious. But…. The demon told me it’s name was Malak, which I can infer relates to the old pagan god Moloch, which in turn is believed to be Ba’al in Goetia. Anyway, the demon was the size of a turkey, and had four arms. It walked on its front two, and used its back two as actual arms. It had tattered wings and a horrifying crazed smile. I did draw a depiction of it, and immediately wrote the Lord’s Prayer on the same page, thinking I made something cursed. Make of this what you will. I just thought I’d share

If memory serves, their son elected to sell all the stuff in their collection... It was bought by a private collector, and I think they bought everything, but mistakes can happen, ya know?
