From my experience as a person with a vision impairment, visual hallucinations are indeed possible if the visual information goes along the optic nerve to the brain and is processed incorrectly. This doesn't need to be psychological or caused by drugs.

I find it interesting that the more rercent sightings very much describe the mothman to have an oddly shaped head while the original descriptions stated that it didn´t have one.

To Jesse's story, there is also a phenomenon where your eyes, in complete or near darkness, will struggle to put enough of an image together of what you're actually looking at, and will literally *warp your vision* out of a lack of any light to give it more detail. If wanna try something that'll fuck you up for life, look at your own reflection in your bathroom mirror in pitch darkness for a decent chunk of time. Your eyes and brain will do absolutely terrifying shit to your face just to try and figure out what it's looking at. At a certain point, after enough time and little light, your eyes stop becoming reliable even in the best case scenarios.

My favourite crazy mothman theory is the one about Jack Parsons, Alistair Crowley and L. Ron Hubbard, and the weird magical rituals that they did, that potencialy opened a rift to another dimension, that coincide with a lot of weird criptid and alien sightings. Its a really crazy and fun story, and i would love to see you cover it.

I think people tend to underestimate just how fucking gigantic owls can be. Maybe it's just that most people only come across them by looking up at them all tiny at the top of a tree, but you get them down to eye level, especially great greys when they've got their wings open, and it can really shock you how big they are.

50-ish mark, I'd like to share a story. I might have shared it in the previous episode but I don't remember. So y'all are in the woods and stuff when things cracked, I'm in the city, 15 minutes from East LA. So one Sunday night I'm grilling in my backyard. It was maybe 8 o'clock, and I hear some dry leaves rustling. It sound like my neighbor was raking up some leaves, and low-key wouldn't have put it past him because he's kind of a weird dude. Anyway, I hear this sound look over to his property, maybe 15 feet away. No movement. Keep hearing the sound, turn on my camera phone in the direction and don't see nothing. It isn't til I move it around in a sweeping motion that I see some glowing eyes atop a low hanging shed roof about 2 o'clock to wear I heard the sound. It turns out it was a family of raccoons skulking about. 3 of them were rustling up some dry leaves for like a nest or something (the sound I heard) and 2 of them were either keeping watch or curious, atop the storage shed roof, on what I was doing or attracted by the smell off the grill. No one around the neighborhood had EVER seen a raccoon (let alone a family of 5 of them). Nobody believes me, except one dude that has some doves in an outdoor cage setup that had a raccoon reach in and pull one out through the chicken wire for dinner. My point is, if no one will believe us on something as normal as a raccoon, I wouldn't put it past people not believing Mothman sightings. It's one of those things tho, unless you experience it first hand you never actually know ...or you experience it first hand and question your sanity on whether it was real or not XD

Funny, glowing red or yellow eyes at night....I come from a family in with hereditary cataracts at early age. Many of us had a cataracts operation around 35 to 40 years old. The lenses they put in our eyes all glow orange yellow in light, in sun but also in lamp light at night just like animals...the only thing that blocks it is wearing contact lenses on the eye. Yes... we are a family with orange yellow glowing eyes at night...:-) we miss the wings though so it was not one of us...
